Default CR Headlights

DV (or anyone else who may know),

I totaled one of my headlights on my '99 vintage Classic Roadster.
Where can I get a replacement? If the same supplier carries the chrome
rings too, I am thinking of getting two so that I'll know they will match.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Flip,

I didn't get my light from Don at CRII. By then Don dipped below the radar with all the problems he was going through.

I got all my lights... headlights and markers from Terry at Great Lakes Replicas. Now... Terry is out of business, so I'm not sure where I can point you to. I am sure DV can Standby and wait for him to come back online and throw some knowledge down on us...

Thanks capteddie,

I am sure someone can head me in the right direction. I saw some at
Finishline but would sure hate to buy and learn "no match" - too much $$ for
guessing. Nothing here in Hawaii! Come on DV!

Flip,
I Don't think the Lucas 'bucket' will fit, but the 'Wica' brand might be the same. Talk to Finishline on that one.

"International" Wholesale used to be the supplier for many kits, owned by Rich from Shell Valley, but since Rich sold out I don't know who is running it-?

Haven't tried one, but I have been told NAPA sells the headlight assembly that CR's uses.

Good Luck!

I never bought the whole assembly, but I used to get my headlights from NAPA and the fit right into the bucket and the ring was perfect.

Thanks guys,

I am not in a big hurry at this point - Dave (Kawika), if you could send me
the part number when you return I'd sure appreciate it. At least we do have
NAPA here.

Aye,
The 'bulbs" are not normally the problem, but rather the buckets.
I think, (there I go again) that Bill was getting them from International Wholesale aka Shell Valley?
DV
PS.. the bulbs are the standard oval dual filament that have been used since the 40's,50's and up.

I'm in the process of installing the headlights on my cobra now. When I get home I'll take some pics and send what part numbers that I have tonight.

Thanks jcmrant,

I totaled the driver's side bucket, ring, et al so am looking for that plus the
two trim rings so I am guaranteed that they match.

I ordered mine from Great Lakes Replica a while back and just dry fitted them last week... seem to fit ok. GLR claimed to have gotten them from Don, but not positive on this. GLR had told me that Finish Line bezels are a little smaller on the o.d.

Box I have says supplier is KD Lamp, 101 Parker Drive, Andover, Ohio 44003. This appears to be a division of Advanced Technology Corp.

If you do a search on their site for the below numbers you'll find the bucket assy, but not the bezel (they call out a different number for the bezel... so if you go this route be sure to verify bezel pn).

Part numbers I have are: Bucket Assy - 499-102242
Bezel - 447-102414

Kawika - if you are back and can post those light bucket part numbers that
would be great Or if anyone else has any more info. I have Googled all over
and have hit dead ends. My buckets have "Advanced Technology Corporation"
stickers on them but no part numbers. I tried Googling them and got nowhere
fast. Just took one into NAPA here and they had nothing like it. My CR was
made in 1999, so the lights (buckets) are at least 10 years old.

Thanks in advance for any additional info.

Thanks Terry,

I sent them an email. Since they are in NC we have a 6 hour time difference
so I hope to hear from them tomorrow. That thread was 7 years old but the web site still works, so I'll see.

DV - I got the numbers from Motorcity but couldn't find anything via Google.
Nothing on Advanced Technologies I could use nor on KD Lamp, so I am
still searching. None of the sites I have searched couldn't give me a match
for the numbers.

Flip, Try this. I see they have the bucket but I could not find the bezel. Maybe you could talk to them and work something out.

Hi cobra,
Afraid you might have to do this the old way.....call info and get the phone #. Advanced Technologies and K-D lamp have been around for generations.

Aaah Heck,
Here you go. Appears that K-D doesn't have a web site! How unheard of is that!?
