trunk rubber molding
Hey guys
Does anyone know where I can get some of the rubber molding that CR used to line the trunk lid. Mine seems to have shrunk and has a 1" gap now so I want to replace it.

You might just cut a short piece off and go to NAPA or who ever sells the
molding and match it to what they have. I think it comes in rolls so you
would just need to measure how many feet around it and get it a little longer.

O.F.M.,
Once again, give Cpteddie a ring. I got him a seal from "Sof-Seal" that works great. It allows the trunk to close a little tighter than the OEM did, makes for a better finished trunk lid/ body seam!
Ed will have the part number for you if you want OR the above will work too.

Another source
Have the same problem.
I found a likely alternative at J.C. Whitney.
Part number CM132561 described as a push on weatherstrip (full bulb style).
Located in their catalog under weather stripping, exterior.
25 foot roll. Bulb is ¾" in dia. $36. Metal clips inside rubber just like what came from CRII, but with a larger bulb.
Only problem, order mine July 23. Still waiting, but it's finally being shipped.

The company DV mentions, have used them numerous times for a variety of projects:

Sof-seal part number?
Yeah, I thought of Sof-seal, too. It was the first place I looked. I also checked Steele Rubber products. I did not find exactly what I needed for the trunk to seal tighter (actually, for the trunk to seal AT ALL).
I never was able to get anyone to respond and actually provide a part number for a Sof-seal product on this forum, although numerous people said to "just go to Sof-seal".
So,....relucantly, I tried J.C. Whitney. The part arrived yesterday and appears to be just what I needed. It has a larger bulb and is more pliable.
I'll post again after I install it.
For what it's worth to anyone else trying to get a better seal on their trunk deck.

Sorry. But I checked all my notes, emails and PMs to and from DV and nothing. I know we got the all of the seals from Soft Seal, but I can't find any of the part numbers.

New seal installed
The ¾" bulb weather strip solved my "gap problem" around the top and side of the trunk deck. However, it was too large and would not compress enough along the bottom. So I used the original rubber seal from CRII across the bottom and just up ton the top of lower corner radii. I "spliced" the smaller bulb into the larger bulb by inserting one into the ID of the other. I posted three photos in my gallery to show the two seals side by side, how I cut them to make a "splice", and a view of how it looked when finished.
Anyone in need of some of the ¾" bulb rubber seal from J.C. Whitney?
I have @ 15'6" of it left over from the 25 feet I had to buy as the minimum.
Let me know.

I second McMaster-Carr for this and other similar widgets and thingamobobs. Their catalog is huge.

I was able to locate the door and trunk rubber in europe. I had to buy a spool of the stuff but I do have it on the shelf. I have never posted photos but I will try tomorrow. I'm in Toronto Canada
