Default using blog; and 5 speed trans oil:

Hey guys: I was wanting to sort of keep a diary of my build, I started a blog here on this site. But, it appears I create a seperate blog each time I make an entry. Who wants to click on dozens of different entries to follow the log. Maybe, I have not found the edit button yet so I can just continue to add to one entry. Looking for the magic button.

Now to my car, seems to be that I used to put 90 weight gear oil in the stick transmissions, now I seem to think they have created some sort of other oil they use for this. I only know I have a 5 speed stick, has the borg warner name on the side. Thanks for the insights, and next time under the car I will find some numbers to possible shed some more light on this.

As far as the blog, do I just start a build thread here and then just keep adding to it.

Take Care Ray

Default Need more info on the trans Ray

Hray Ray could you get a picture of the trans in your pictures? It depends on the trans, some take 75-90 gear oil like in the rearend of old cars. Some take a auto trans fluid like in new car with automatic. The best thing is to find out what trans you have and get the CORRECT weight of fluid for the trans. You might want to look at a high quality fluid like Amsoil or the Purple line. They are for higher temp running and last longer in most cases. If it's a T5 or TKO trans talk to Brent on the CORRECT fluid for them. They have changed either the weight or fluid to be used for max durability and long life. Both my trans use Full Sythesic Amsoil in the 75-90 wieght Rick L.

Default will post info and or picture

I will find out the specifics, and once I figure out how to resave my pixs into smaller format I will post them.

Again thanks to all for your insights.

mpanten IS right.. yes I know it's a GM product but all tremacs use GM Syncromesh fluid.
HOWEVER....Do NOT use any Silicone based tranny fluid! The inner synchros are a Teflon type coating and will NOT hold up to silicone! Less than 50 miles and you will have a plastic coated, messed up tranny!
