OK< I feel bad keeping you in suspense, here is the SUPRISE.
This is the invaluable accessory that will keep you ready for pic-nic, or for keeping your passenger warm and cozy on those cool morning and evening drives.
special thanks to my wife, she just finished this in 5 days, it is almost 5 feet square. much bigger than photo indicates
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/...de37191b_b.jpg
the cobra gods are with us, my display is against a big white wall, tomorrow morning I will hang this behind the car on that big blank wall. Should give all the ladies something to look at instead of all that chrome and paint.
PS: OFM call me and let me know when you are coming, I am in building 6 upfront.

Ray, Congrats on the invite to Redding. The Cobra deserves a special spot. The contribution your wife made is really well executed. Best of luck at Autorama.

Four hours to show time;
last nite I found the print mode thread button one this site, so I printed out the entire thread, only slightly over a hundred pages. now just gotta whole punch them and print out a cover sheet for the binder for it.
I have to go by and pick up the sign on the way to the show, still going to be a busy morning. Finished the build photo album last nite at midnight. I guess I must like pressure, always waiting till the last minute it seems.
and on that quilt show, absolutely, we are going to print out a picture of the car and excerpts from the thread and enter that quilt in the next quilt show in our area.
gotta run, stay tuned.

my neighbors came to show, she is a budding photographer, must have taken a hundred photos with her high dollar camera, on her screen they look great, very close macro photos, hopefully, we can get them posted.
been hanging with car most of the time, gonna leave laptop in truck now and walk the show, later.

This may have been an oversight, but there's a speck of dust on the LF wheel.
Other than that, your car looks beautiful!
Thanks for sharing your build.
You are a true inspiration to Cobra builders everywhere!

CR owners get together at autorama;
Greetings; We had an impromptu meeting of CR owners at autorama.
While OFM and I were chatting up comes Tcrist. We may have made history with three CR owners in same place at same time. OFM will post the evidence later.
DV: I must have told ten people about your kit available, they all said they would visit the website and send you a message about it, who knows.
It is just amazing to see and listen to the comments about this car, actually it would not have made much difference whose cobra it was, I guess these cars are just like magnets for people. There must have been at least 6 ladies tell me thier husbands have orders to get them one of these.
Well, one more day and I will somewhat get my life back to normal, not that it ever was really normal. Now I gotta go clean the shop and convert it from a construction site to a storage site for the car.

Pictured are Terry, Mike, Ray and one very nicely done Cobra.

DV;
If you were not so far away, or if you wanted to include delivery to california for a nominal fee I would see about taking delivery of your car. I have a perfect 2002 mustang gt with 4.6 complete with only 50K miles on it, just sitting waiting for a car to fit with it.
I think I could cut those hours substantially on the next build.
How about it, you want to take a drive to California once the weather breaks.

Three CR IIs owners at one place and one time . I'm thinking that I really missed something by being 3000 miles away and up to my eyeballs in snow. You lucky guys. Hope the show is everything that you could wish for Ray.

California!?
Spent a year at "Hunter Liggett" back in 67-68, wow. Fella I'd love to see you get this car but at this price I am afraid I have built no shipping into the price! I'd also like to take a trip to the land of sun, mud slides, fires, earthquakes It's all worth it!

DV: like I said, I would surely expect to pay the transportation charges, this morning I was figuring in my head how much it would cost for me to come get it. I do have family in Chicago that we could come visit.
My guess is about 3000 miles from your place to mine, maybe less, we are about 2100 from here to chicago, so for estimated miles round trip is 6k.
to be on safe side 15mpg (if I bring flat bed trailer, maybe more, if I bring enclosed trailer then less) but 300 gallons of gas round trip, 3$ dollars a gallon is about 900.00 round trip. or maybe I could put the tow dolly inside my truck to come out, then secure body to chassis and put extra parts in truck for return, that could get my mileage up to about 18mpg.
just for discussion purposes 1K to get it here. that would mean 9K for starting budget, in my opinion not a bad investment still. I doubt I could get anyone to transport it out for less than the 1K.
I will keep figgering and see what pencils out.
just mapquested it, they say 2257 miles from sac to pentwater, that is just under 5k miles round trip. look I am already saving money.
