Need opinions about Classic Roadster cobras. I’m 6’5” 210 lbs. I like the 94” wheel base Classic Roadster offers. The concern I have is purchasing a cobra knowing the company does not exist. Should this be a concern? What about resale value?

Thanks

Hinzer

First of all, welcome to CC.
No problem about purchasing a CR. We have enough help on this forum to get you through anything that you need. Visit the CR forum in the manufactures area for CR related concerns. Any other concerns that come up just about anyone on this forum can help.

Hinzer, welcome to the site. When I bought my CRII I was not even aware that they had financial difficulties. You are already ahead of the curve. If you buy the car "right" you shouldn't be too concerned. A lot of the pieces from the car are still available from Finishline, Shell Valley, etc. Terry Crist, DV, and others should be able to steer you through any questions that you have. Possibly, because we are orphans we stick together a little more. If you get a chance post some pics. Best of luck to you.

Jim

Thanks guys for the response. Does owning a CR hurt resale because the company does not exist? What does the insurance companies say? What do you pay for insurance? I'm in Illinois.

Hinzer,
After owning and driving your new Classic Roadster you won't be thinking resale. Look at it this way...any loss of resale value would be realized by the seller, not the buyer. Your the buyer, so it shouldn't be an issue at all. The state of our economic times are more of an issue now with cars being sold for much less than they were purchased. A buyer with cash in hand is a very favorable position to be in. If your looking for a good investment, I don't think a Cobra of any flavor is that, with some rare exceptions.
