Happy new owner!
Hello all, I've been hanging around here for a few years, and have wanted a cobra for many. I'd always wanted to try my very limited skills at building one, but I finally realized I have no time to do that for many more years (family work yadda yadda), so I made the decision to buy a previously enjoyed cobra. Not easy to find in Canada!!
Finally the stars all seemed to align and I was able to buy an older Can-Am cobra off a fine gentleman in LA. Awesome ride, its big inside due to monocoque style construction and a bit of extra length I think so I more or less fit (I'm 6'7"). Other general bits: 4 speed toploader, 9 inch rear with 4 link, a very healthy 460 big block with dual 4 barrel carter carbs. Interesting angle to this one is it was actually originally built in Canada, less than an hour from me!
The only kicker is I cant get it up to Canada until February because of stupid import rules (completed kit cars must be 15 yrs old before they are allowed into Canada, even if they were built here). It's killing me!! Not that I could drive it much these days as its rain season in Vancouver, but I could at least work on stuff.
So, until February I'll continue spending tons of time here learning, buying bits and pieces (just bought some Goodyear billboards!) and perhaps even adding the odd bit of value to the discussions.
Cheers!
