Default Changed from lurker to owner

Just wanted to introduce myself as I have recently purchased a Cobra. You will know me more by the car than who I am, but hopefully, that will change with time.

I have just purchased ERA154, and it was delivered last Friday after a 3000 mile journey from Oregon to Central Florida.

Ernie has made me feel right at home, and I have asked him a ton of questions, to which he has graciously answered.

Some I didn't expect, like he was leaving the ear plugs in the glove box for me..

And that whole Evans thing, still not sure about that, but I am open minded.

Anyway, a little about me...
I am a private pilot (not current, but should be again soon), and love flying to the Bahamas to dive and fish. I am a General contractor, so anyone with construction questions, I may be able to help.
Cars I have owned but don't anymore:

70 Mach 1, 351C 4V, Shaker, Toploader, 3:89 Tractionlok,
68 Torino GT, 390 4V, C6 Then a 429 4v, C6
74 F-100 240 1bbl, C4 Shortbed

I think that's about it. Oh, and thank you Ernie, it's been a pleasure...

Jim

Congrats on being a Cobra owner, and being an ERA Cobra owner at that. You bought one of the best, and the ERA 'Werks' here in CT. will always be there to help with any parts, updates, and whatever else you may need. Peter keeps a file on every car ever produced there and if you call him, he'll update 'your' file. Being a Ford guy, you're right at home in the power dept., so you should have no problem keeping it running well. Good luck (and post a photo or two).

Congratulations - you've purchased a well storied and therefore somewhat pedigreed ERA. Ernie is a good guy and always means well. I just hope the earplugs aren't used or anything...

Still kinda sad to see him sell the Cobra, but be prepared - he has a history of wanting cars back a lil' while after he lets them go.

Thanks, I will give Peter a call and have him update the file, as I do need some small parts that I am sure they can provide.

Actually, there was a set of earplugs that jumped out when I opened the glove box.. Not sure where they ended up...I think they went under the minivan..

Oh, and everything Ernie said about ERA154 being fast is true.... nothing like torque to put a smile on your face!

Congratulations. That's a nice car, ERA 154. I looked seriously at buying it a while back, so researched the car a bit. I think you got a bargain!
Cheers!

Jim,

Welcome to the Club!
Congratulations on the purchase of ERA 154, great car from a great guy. I was at SAAC-35 last year, met Ernie and other CC members, lots of fun. Peter and the crew in New Britain will take good care of you. Enjoy your new ride

Welcome aboard. That's a great car and having someone like Ernie to bounce questions off will really help you get used to it. That won't take long though, and you'll love every minute of it.

Ye Haw,,, I have a kitchen sink again!

Wait, wrong forum, where's the Remodeling your house thread?

With the ERA out of my hair I can focus on the house. I wish you and the car the best Jim! It's been a great ride for me! I'll get some pics on a flash drive and mail you the drive in due time. Next up is the bathroom, at least the toilet is flushable now. Eh Eh,,,,
