Default New to CC-New BDR owner

Hello everyone...Just put my deposit down on BDR #1061 Headed to Fla to inspect next week. Car has the Ford Racing 427 FE Alum block hooked up to Tremec 600. I am like a kid on Christmas eve. I sold my Stingray a few years ago and aside from my boat I havent had a toy for a long time.

Looking forward to contributing and learning from the site. Looks like some really informed folks around here.

Happy holidays!

gary

Thumbs up

Gary, welcome to the madness man!

BTW, if your engine is from Ford Racing then I think you'll find that it's a small block Windsor based engine, not an FE. It's not like I think that it'll matter to you as you're hammering the highway with it though!

Lovehamr-superb profile pic FYI, yes you are spot on-W351 block. I believe the 590 HP Ford states was with an 850, Mine has the 770 so not sure what that will drop to HP wise but I can mess around with all that later. Not so sure it will matter for the type of driving I will do as I'm not a track person (not yet anyway!)

I was actually torn on a small CI motor vs larger but opted for the torque and weight reduction with the alum block. Also grappled with Fuel injection but a lot more money. Im sure there will be a few modifications/upgrades but thats half the fun right?!

Gary, if you're taking I95 all the way from Jersey to FL and back, PM me because you'll pass within 2 miles of my house near Brunswick GA.

Lovehamr-Im headed to Key Largo for the holidays with the family so we are gonna drive up to Boynton Beach one day to close the deal. Then Im gonna ship the car back to NJ though Im thinking about putting it at my place in key largo for remainder of the winter Ill prob get more use out of it when I go fishing down there. I would love to run Overseas Highway from Key Largo to Key West in the car-That would be an epic trip if the weather looked good.

Default Finally....!!!

Just got word that BDR#1061 is ready to go. Opted for a soft top and car needed a few minor items but is finished now. Reliable Transport is picking it up in Fla next Monday should be here Wed. Now if that global warming would just kick in a little. Still making some changes in the garage since its been taken over by the kids of late-HOWEVER...all things non hot rod related have been removed and the mancave is almost finished. Garage heater is on order and will provide the finishing touch, nice to see the top of the workbench again and the new flooring is sweet. I havent been this stoked in a long time...shoulda got the heated seats.

Gary

Congrat! I just took delivery of my backdraft #1077 on Wednesday from VintageMotorsports. The car is a blast, the only thing you have to watch out for is that stupid grin on your face when you're behind the wheel
