Default New to the site...

Greetings, I am new to the site and am just taking my first steps towards finding a car. I've been a fan for a lot of years and have finally decided it is time to own something larger than a 1:12 scale version (I have a very extensive diecast collection dedicated to the 427 S/C for the most part).

So now I am on the hunt and asking all the usual questions... fiberglass or AL, CSX or "other"... I'm a fanatic for the "original" look (my first exposure was to an original S/C and I want that same profile), so that helps to narrow the field. Anyway, I look forward to the input and to becoming an owner myself.

Thanks... yes, I know Judy from some diecast hunting she helped me with and Curt in turn by association... great people and great site. I see you have quite a project on your hands yourself. Very nice. I'm looking for a finished car myself. I've done a few frame-up restorations (a passion that started 35 years ago with a '39 Ford Deluxe Woody and the passion has not left me), but now I just want to step into something that is already 100%.

Looking forward to the process and the hunt... that is a big part of the fun too.

Smile

we are a great bunch when it comes to spending your money.

you will have to decide if you want aluminum or fiberglass.

enjoy the search.

it took me two years to come up with a list of what I wanted and then I changed most of it after I build one.

It took me two years to take the plunge. Sure is a lot of fun and Super people that go out of their way to help no matter what the case may be.

Good luck! It's only money!

Thumbs up

If you want turn key, there are quite a few nice AC's listed in the for sale section here! Just buy & drive! Or if you want to build yourself. There are more than a few top quality builders, who make better than original reproductions. My pick for Alum/AC's would be 1. Kirkham, 2. Shelby. Top of the line glass AC's would be 1. ERA! But their are others as well. Do your homework. Build or buy; for a quality ride, plan on 45K to 150K depending on how far you want to go.

Your budget will dictate your choices, once you post that, we can assist you further.
