Smile Hello

Dear all,

New to this forum I would like to introduce myself.
55 years old from Germany and looking back to a reasonable Cobra career.
I’m happy to have a girl friend at my side being also enthusiastic about Cobras and having fun to drive herself.
I started with a Southern Roadcraft, ran different types of Cobra replicas and ended up with a SPF MkIII (annexed by my beloved girl friend ), my Unique 427SC and an aluminium-bodied 289 Sports which is under restoration now.
I’m not a racer for sure, even I do some drag racing( but just for fun and always take the Unique due to its automatic transmission :-)) ). DAS DRAG DAY#7 cobra - YouTube
Last ot least and “sorry” - because it is written in German – my latest project, pictures say more than thousand words: Die kostenlose Homepage mit page4 - Home

Welcome to Club Cobra. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

You certainly seem to be "snake bitten," judging by your impressive fleet of Cobras. What is the chassis number for your 289 Sports (COB61xx)? How did you come by it? This is a car I'd love to hear (read) more about.

@ Seagull81: for sure I will upload some pictures, will take some time because all these different forums require a special procedure I have to be familiar with ....and about computers 10% is allways voodoo .

@ SunDude.
Yes, 289 Sport is down to bolt and nut 150% a 289 Sport.
It has been registered as a COBxxxx ..... however I know it far better: It is a car build by Brian Angliss in the 80th and therefore I want to register it different.....it is not a car which will appear in the "bible" :-)).
Nevertheless this is a very challenging project for me and for sure you will hear and see more about the progress.
I have clear ideas how the car should look like - will be something that will polarize the crowd

Hi, and welcome to the site. You do have an impressive fleet of Cobras and I am looking forward to the pictures. If you have any trouble figuring out how to post pictures here just ask and there are a lot of members that can help you out. You can either put them in your Gallery and link to them or put them on a photo storage place such as Photo Bucket and link to them.

Have fun and enjoy the site.

Ron

So, then you're saying that the car is an Autokraft MkIV / AC Cobra MkIV by Autokraft, not an actual AC 289 Sports...?

Well this is a very nice car too. Post some pics for everyone to enjoy.

And you might want to post something over on the AC Owners Club forum as they have many other MkIV owners who can help/advise you on the restoration and they're on your side of the pond too. They have some German members too, who might live close to you.

@Ozgur: Great work. Yes, Istanbul! You are a happy camper!. What a fantastic place for a Cobra. Would like to cruise along the Bosporus also.
Whenever in Germany welcome - contact me :-).

@ Sundude. With Cobras and ACs its can happen that you find some which are also related to some voodoo. Mine is such an example, not an Mk IV but a 289 Sports build in the 80th by Brian. Yes, such things happen. Look at Rinsey Mills "AC ACE & Cobra" page 79 - same frame/suspension I have. Four corner coil over with Konis and disc brake rear and front (the meanwhile very rare Girling ones). The body is as a 427 however smaler hips and regular without any scoop on the hood or roll bar, with spoked wheels. (Mine came with scoop and a recessed big Le Mans fuel cap, both is not peridical correct). Dash should and will be very similar to a 289 (with clock).

Fotos: Here you find some:
Die kostenlose Homepage mit page4 - Karosse

Simple play with the buttons on the top "Home", "Demontage" and "Wiederaufbau" and you can see the details.
