I have been on here about a year, but just now posting. I have also had my car about a year.

I'm at the point of starting to pick my interior stuff. The main thing right now is I need seats. I didn't opt for the standard small bucket type seats. I want something with a higher back, possible head rest and holes for over the should seatbelts.

I did a search on here for seats and got some 500 pages back. Too broad I guess, but I'm not sure how to find threads on them. Just looking for feedback on different types people have gotten. Since most likely I wont be able to sit in any before I buy, I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

I'm hoping to have my cobra streetable sometime this fall to get a few drives in. It will kill me to go another winter .

Sounds good. There are many kinds of seats, depends on how you will use the car. I have converted Acura seats, quite a few LS owners are now using Mini Cooper seats. Then there is the after market, but they tend to be more for racing and less for comfort. We use ours for cruising and these seats are very comfy for hours when the folks with the original style seats are whining about numb butts.

Do this, sit on the floor and place a piece of cardboard or a couple of boards on either side of your hips and find out how wide you need your seat to be (usually 17"- 20"). Then call the guys at UltraShield Race Seats in western Louisanna and have them make you a pair. they can design the seat for you with the proper tilt, width and height. Some of the best money I ever spent on my Cobra and that was 8 years ago. Ultra-Shield Race Products

Yeah, I went down to TX last year and rode in a few. I know Brian the owner has Acura seats in his. I also rode in Ken's copperhead cobra that has mini cooper seats. While they both were comfortable, I wasn't crazy about them. My purpose is mainly for cruising, but I want some side support when taking turns fast or doing the occasional track day. I like the idea of having the shoulder holes for the seat belts to help keep them in place.

What year and type of Acura are yours out of? Can you post some pics or a link?

I checked out their site, but it looks like theirs are so called solid seats in that you can recline or adjust anything. I think I want the option to slide my seat back/forth and recline. I know there is not much room for all that, but even a little can make a difference.

Unless you are a midget (sorry, height challenged person), there is NO room to slide the seats nor is there any room for the slide mechanism underneath the seat unless you like cleaning bugs off your forehead.

I'm only 5-10 and my Acura seats are bolted in place. I can move the seat back forward to access the area behind it, but the driving position is set. that's because you need to keep an eye on your head location relative to the windshield in mind. Too tall a seat will make for a very uncomfortable ride for your noggin.

I started with the sliders, but ended up removing them. Even the low-profile sliders add at least an inch which puts my eyes right in line with the top of the windscreen. It's hard to look thru that bar across the top.
