Still looking
I'm going to look at a Contemporary in Norwalk, Connecticut next week.
Know of anyone in that area who does pre purchase inspections?
Any Cobra owners in that area? I don't want to purchase based on my limited knowledge. Any and all help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you,
Gene

Is it a coil over or torsion bar front end car?

Bill,
I just went over the seller's information, it doesn't specify. The car is CCX33710, built in 1994, if that helps. Thank You,
Gene

You should ask the seller ASAP as that will determine whether the car is priced right. Why not do a cut and paste of the ad here and we can guide you.

Contemporary Classic Cobra 427 SC. Serial # CCX33710. Moonlight Blue Metallic/Wimbledon White stripes. Built in 1994, by Richard Pickles, avid Cobra builder and racer. This very serpent was featured on magazine covers and featured stories on CCX33710. You can read about Contemporary and its unrivaled authenticity to the original, including a splendid round-tube chassis that indeed mimics the Shelby original. The drivetrain also closely follows the original 427SC. Under the hood: original cast-iron 1968 Ford 427FE sideoiler block bored 0.020" over (no sleeves). The engine was stroked to 468 cid and produces 575 horses, and is outfitted with: a 428 crank stroked to 4.125", mains 0.10" under, rod journals 2.2" Chevy big-block, requires machining bearings narrower, Eagle rods 6.8". 4.250" Wiseco pistons, Reed solid flat tappet cam, intake 250 ext, 259 @0.050, set lash at 0.012 and 0.014 cold, Dove roller rockers, Dove medium-riser heads with Manley valves, 11.0:1 compression. Ported RPM manifold, Barry Grant 950 cfm carburetor. Edelbrock aluminum water pump, Milodon 7 qt. oil pan, Aeromotive fuel pump, twin remote mounted oil filters, MSD 6AL ignition box, Mallorydistributor, Tilton hi-torque starter. Geartrain: Lakewoodbellhousing, Hayes aluminum flywheel, Ram HD clutch with 2800# long pressure plate, 4-speed Ford toploader with large input, Jag rear 3.31:1 with posi-traction. Spax shocks, inboard discs with Wilwood calipers. 15" Compomotive wheels. Sale includes a spare set ofTeam III 17" wheels with slicks. Full array of Smiths gauges. Fuel cell. This serpent drives and handles splendidly. It has logged 25,500 Miles. Please note that the car is located in Connecticut but is registered in NY as a 1966 Ford Convertible. The last picture is a view of the driver side casting of the lower end of the engine block. You can see the classic bump out ridge that evidences the "Side Oiler" 427. Many cobras have 427 badging on the body and may even have a 427 cubic inch Ford. But very very few of them are authentic Side Oilers. Most of the 427s were center oiler or top oilers. This is the real deal. This car has the identical driver train and running gear as the original. This is my 4th cobra. I've owned Superformances before this and this blue car is blindingly fast and handles very comfortably. The car has 25,500 miles which is tried and true and fully sorted out.

Might want to check your states regulations regarding inspection, registration and emissions for kit cars. If recognized as a kit car, will TN accept the NY registered Brand/Model with the corresponding VIN even with a legal title. ?
Also, whether separate Bills of Sale are required for the major drive train components such as engine, transmission, rear end etc
