Default Hello from Detroit

I recently had an offer accepted on a 1967 Cobra Replica (A&C from Buffalo maker) and will be going to have it inspected this Saturday, 12/8. I am bringing a mechanic but would greatly appreaciate ANY suggestions on how best to evaluate or what questions to ask the mechanic!

After my test drive, I noticed the following issues:

1. The high beams did not work (normal headlights were fine)
2. Reverse lights did not light-up in reverse
3. Popping in the exhaust. Not sure if this is normal on 302 engines with headers and pipes?!? Occurred in idol and while running but didn't seam to effect the performance at all. It was about a 50 degree day.

Car specifics:

A&C Kit Built in 2010
302 HO Ford Mustang Engine (1995 or 1998 and I am told it was in a creight)
Borg Transmission
Disc Brakes
3.73 Rear End

Chrome Roll Bar
Black side pipes
Side and Top Visors
Leather Seats
Driver chrome side mirror
AM/FM/CD Radio
Five-speed
No air, no top, no heat
White Stripes
Chrome Gas Cap
Electric fan
Trunk the size of a shoe box! :-)

Thanks for any advice or help!!!

I am not dealing directly with the seller. It is being sold on consignment at a local Dealer Showroom...

Not sure what will be discovered... That is why I am ging to have a mechanic check it out first. Just looking for some pointers.

Welcome to the journey. As long as you don't get too serious about things you're in for a fun ride.
Photos?
What are your first impressions?

Thanks. First impression is that it is a 400hp go-cart. I had a ZR-1 ages ago and this feels faster.

It is cold and winter here in the mitten so I probably won't schedule a photo shoot with my lovely assistants until it warms-up unless I can get the garage looking good...

It is a driver and I intend to use it as much as humanly possible in good weather!

Welcome to the madness! Be careful with the throttle until you get used to it.

The popping as others will probably tell you is an exhaust leak either at the manifold or at your collectors.

The high beams may be on a seperate toggle.

The reverse back up lights may need to be traced back to the transmission.

Just speculating, but if that is all the problems you have I would say you have a pretty nice Cobra.
