Yet Another Noob Lurking Around...
 
Well guys, long time lurker....finally making a post. I'm in SE PA.

I've restored more than a few older Mopars, but have been considering a Cobra build for a long time. Originally have preferred a slab side, but if a "right" car showed up...it might sway me in another direction.

I've made the trip to meet the guys at ERA, which was great. I also have spoken to, and visited with some folks that volunteered to open their garage and give me the grand tour of their Cobra. I'm thankful for the advice.

I'm thankful for how helpful the Cobra folks are...seems like a most welcoming group.

Looking forward to learning more and making a good decision...

You'll be even more thankful for a Cobra in your very own garage. Send Peter P. at ERA a check for $5k and get your name on the list. By the time your name comes up you'll know just what you want. And if you change your mind, he'll give it back to you.:cool:

Just buy a completed car and drive it. After a year you'll know (1) if the Cobra is right for you and (2) if you want to stay with what you have or change.

Go on the Cobra Country page and see what's out there. Go see the cars in person. Shop and compare all available models and you will eventually trend towards a specific manufacturer based on your preferences. Talk to owners.......and the big one will be trying to drive one. Be patient. Good luck.

I couldn't agree more! Peter and his team built my Slabside. Wonderful people and a great car.

I'd figure out how much power you want to have and what you plan to do with it...if you go in the slabside direction, probably should stay sub-400 hp...(is that right slabside guys?).

I believe so. The Slabside is very good on two lane winding roads where handling really comes into play. At least for me the 289 HP has more than enough torque and power.

what size rear tires do you run John on your slabside?

I'd love to drive a slabside; betcha is feels much "lighter" than my 289FIA...

Michelin 215/70X15 on Dunlop wire wheels. Peter recommended the tire size as I wanted to nicely fill the wheel wells.
