Check this out if you haven't seen it. It's only 9 minutes long and worth watching. A great Cobra and legendary Cobra owner. As cool as it gets, both Cobra and owner.

Picked up a car, now I can begin the journey.
Just arrived, an 82 Aurora Cobra. The story behind the co is pretty wild and I have hundrheds of docs filled with the original paperwork etc. Car drives nice and looks pretty good. Only complaint is I NEED MORE LEG ROOM!!!. Seems taking the seat rail off and bolting to the floor will.pick up a bit. Any suggestions? I am 5 11
and 180. Heres a short vid of the delivery.

It'll cost you a boatload. Realizing that you don't get in a Cobra, you wear it, I figured out early on that Rule #1 of buying a Cobra is don't buy one until you've sat in that one! They vary all over the place even within the same manufacturer.
You can take the rails off and mount the seat directly to the floor. That will help with height but overall legroom can only be fixed by rebuilding the foot boxes and tunnel. The cost is such that you're better off just swapping cars with one that fits. Plus, if you start hacking the car, you end up with a one off that becomes harder to sell down the line.

The photo of CSX2048 shows that the beautiful original steering wheel has been
replaced with the later version...I wonder why?

Just spoke with last owner and I think the issue is solved. He is 5 6" and had pedal extensions put on, I think losing those 3 inches will be perfect! He said to just unbolt em!
We will see.......
thx

But its not pre-1975 so aren't you subject to smog inspections?
Unless, if I recall, the Auroras had rear exhaust with cats. Is that correct?
Congrats and welcome to the Cobra community. You're gonna love driving that car.

@ERA626, I agree Mike that was a great deal for that 289FIA Crazy Money @Mecum in Fla. today 220K for a Backdraft, 190K for a Superformance, and 121K for a FFR Daytona. That early ERA 427 from the Gary Thomas Collection was a steal @72K.

I just looked up CSX2048, and it has the original 9 bolt steering wheel, with the Trafficator in the middle. All 260 Cobra's came like that .

The GRX Aurora was built in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada. They were in business I believe from 1981 - 1983 unfortunately the company went bankrupt. They produced between 157 - 170 Cobra’s. The GRX Aurora met all Safety and EPA Emissions Standards. The GRX was delivered street legal in 50 states and complete street legal in Canada, sold through Ford dealerships.
Enjoy your ride!

Thanks! There is some real corporate warfare that went on with that Ford venture.

Legenmetals, on here, did a 260 tribute car that is incredible. Has a real 260 with Webers. An immaculately done car! I think he was thinking of selling it at one point... probably is on here somewhere.
