Potential New Owner....waited 17 years
17 years ago after spending too much time on call and finding the end of the internet, I sold my basket case TR4 that I bought and started to refurb...and decided on a Cobra Kit. Liked the Lonestar Classic and visited their facility and started saving my pennies. Wife said I had to get house redone.....done, then many life events, and now I have the nest egg for my dream car. I saw they were bought by UCC and UCC offered a ten day onsite build. UCC still has a website up...but now one answers the phone or email. I did see the Texas Cobra Club had an event over the weekend near there. Does anyone know if UCC is still making kits...and if not, then lets hear some recommendations.

I would seriously take a look at www.Hurricane-Motorsports.com -- very actively selling kits and supporting customers. They were just at the Texas Club Club spring meet and sold 3 more builds while there. They are in Carroll, Iowa.

I also waited several years to order mine, just ordered a Unique Cobra in January uniquemotorcars.com. The Weavers are good people, easy to deal with and have been in business since 1976, honest & dependable are important in any business but in this business where they come and go overnight even more so. If you choose their Deluxe Pallet Kit a lot of the hard work is done for you and your in the same $'s as other kits that need much more work.
In the end you have a number of good kits to choose from, enjoy the journey! |
I second Unique Motorcars
It's a great kit, with good folks, and you will become part of the extended Weaver family. C'mon down to Gadsden, AL and visit while they host the Homecoming event May 13-14, 2022! It is definitely worth the trip. You can tour the factory, visit with owners, get rides, and see many color/motor/body combinations. Don't miss it, even if you buy someone else's kit. It will give you great perspective for comparison.
