Hello from the UK

I don't own a Cobra but have been quite involved with the recommission of CSX3019. It had spent near on 40 years in Beaulieu Motor Museum in the UK. This Competition Cobra has spent all it's life in Europe with all of it in the UK from the end of 1966.

Has been quite interesting deep diving into the history of this 427 Cobra and was hoping that maybe there will be more info to be found on this forum.

as for my own vehicles i do own two 1966 Barracudas and a 1967 Honda S800 to which i have squeezed in a Honda S2000 engine.

cheers

Ok that one works, the first few i posted were waiting for mod approval?

anyway.

i have been quite involved with the recommission of CSX3019 after spending the best part of 40 years in the Beaulieu Motor Museum. It is now reunited with its best friend GT40M3/1103.

bit cryptic but Trevor Legate will Know :3DSMILE:

Welcome. It sounds like you have come to the right place.

BTW, note that the server for this site is routinely very slow. This leads many newcomers to think their post was not processed, so they duplicate them. If it appears your post was not processed, just wait a little while and then go back to the home page to see if it is there.

Bozwell 12-20-2023 05:18 AM

cheers.

it looks like anything with a link or pictures will not be posted till mod approved.

i submitted my first posts many days ago hence the "anyone there" which was a test post that i thought maybe will get mod attention?

so images and links will have to wait.

we are finding more info and images on the early days of 3019 and i think i have found another link in the chain. but can't share till mod approved.

I think there is a post count before pics can be included. If you comment on a few other threads it may speed things up. . . . Posting pics here can be challenging. There are instructions in the sticky threads. It's easiest if the pic is already on the Internet and you can link its address here.

Bozwell 12-20-2023 06:09 AM

started an album but it wont even let me post from that (you can click on the album to see it)

I'm not really one to comment on other posts so it may take a while then.

cheers

Looks like there are only 6 hits when searching CSX3019 (and one is this thread)

Tommy, can you send Trevor Legate a PM as i can't at present. I met Trevor many years ago when i was very involved with GT40M3/1103 and he kindly gave me his Cobra 40 years book.

cheers

First, welcome, we look forward to the refurbishing of CSX3019 and it's subsequent status of such here.

i did read that a while ago (after first post rejected last Friday) which is why i know links and images are not allowed so waited for approval. Thought days would mean 48/72 hours max?

CSX3019 had its first outing at this years Goodwood Revival in its new form. but as i can't post links or images ;)

Passenger ride in CSX3019 (Nick Acton video) it was just a pootle around as it was a shake down and the first time the Cobra had been driven in 40 years

mrmustang 01-15-2024 04:21 AM

Thanks for posting, nothing like the sound of straight pipes, even if it was just cruising at what appears to be 40-50mph

Great video

Goodwood is a definite bucket list item for me. Wish I'd managed it when I was traveling to London on business on a regular basis. Video and audio quality you can get from a phone is amazing these days. Love to see a version when the situation allows the driver to really get the car up to speed. Do you know when and where CSX3019 will be visiting in the states?
Cheers!
