Default Sorta new. . . .

I've been lurking for awhile, trying to decide whether to waste money on another steel car or build a Cobra. Still undecided on the maker, but I do know that I am over the steel cars and all the rust issues they bring with them. I've been into Mustangs and Fairlanes for ever, and most recently had a `57 Ford Custom with a 427 Windsor. I had been gathering parts for a `67 Fairlane, but finally opened my eyes and realized that the "pretty nice" Fairlane I had bought had become a rusty turd overnight. I have a great deal of the parts for it and 2 others like it sold, with more to go, I expect. The only things I am keeping from the parts gathering are my 428 CJ and 4 speed. I have a few nice parts for the CJ, and a new scattershield and a good toploader with the right tailshaft housing for a Cobra, (I would have had to change it for a Fairlane). I have about 23 years experience in building from the ground up, so this will be a treat for me, not having to clean 25-30 years of crud off of used, boneyard parts. So I guess, I am hoping you guys will accept me into the Cobra family, as at least a tentative owner. I hope to have enough research done to at least choose a company and make a deposit by this coming Spring. My current plan is to pay cash for the kit, since I dont particularly want a payment hanging over it. I know each faction is fiercely loyal to their respective makers, but honestly, which kit is the best bang for the buck, while maintaining form true to the original? I like the FFR cars for the goods that come with the kit, but I just cant get past that rear section. The Hurricane car looks good too. Any problems with those? Right now, I am leaning toward Unique, since they build a really nice product, and they are only about 5 hours from my home. Any input you can give to a newbie is greatly appreciated. I will end for now saying, this a great place to learn..Hope to participate with a build of my own soon.
