Hello from Ohio
I've been a guest on the site for about a year. Up until about 8 months ago, I didn't really have any interest in Cobra's at all. A friend at work asked me to join him for a 15 minute trip to Dynamic Motorsports, in Ross OH. I got hooked in about 30 seconds.
My wife is committed to the idea of my building a Cobra (she wants to help!). We both like the looks of the Superperformance, but they only sell turnkey minus. I've been looking at Lonestar on-line, as a project. Can anyone speak to the comparability of the two cars, particularly on interior layout?
We had planned a trip to Carlisle this weekend, but had to change plans today. Would've been a good opportunity to see different models first hand.

Sounds like you need to get yourselves to the London Cobra Show next month: London Cobra Show - The Ohio Cobra Club.

Lone Star
I have a Lone Star and will be at the London Cobra Show. We will be at the Hampton Inn. Look for a yellow Cobra no stripes and Alabama tag. I'll give you a ride and answer any question you ask.

Superformance produces and awesome car, their fit and finish is 1st class.
Not sure what kind of budget you are working with, but you may want to look for a nice pre-owned car.
And yes, London is the place to be next month.
Good luck in your search, you have come to the right place for information.

I commend your desire to build, the problem is the build may only be 10% of total ownership time. The other 90% of the time you have to live with YOUR build. Have you considered buying a SPF or BDR turnkey minus. Build your own motor up and install that will burn up some time. First time installer on a turnkey minus after engine is complete would take a miniumuim of 50 hours not including surfing the web everytime you have a question. The good news is the only thing you can mess up with a turnkey minus is the engine and trans install, not the paint, the finish, the interior, the suspension, the brakes etc.
Unless you are a painter I do not see how it is possible for you to build your own at the same price as a turnkey minus and get 80% the results. Go to the cobra meet and start looking at different builds including the wiring, dash layout, fit and finish.

Here is the link. I'm in the process of updating the list, so send me an e-mail and I can send you the latest if you wish. The file on this link has 98% of the manufacturers (at least the ones I could find).
List of Manufacturers
You cannot go wrong with an SPF. I bought mine used and have been driving with a smile for a few years now.
