Did even more drilling! This car is looking like swiss cheese! I drilled 21 lift-a-dot post, 8 side curtain ferrules, two rear veiw mirror holes and mounted the Raydot. The thread outlining the post positions was a huge help!

Measure 4 times and drill once!

It is starting to look like a real cobra!

I have come to a turning point on the car. I can call it a turn key minus now. I think I am going to chronical some of the options I have on the car and the engine engine install in part II of the assembly process. So far we have shown the build process from the bar steel to a roller, now it gets fun. Here are some shots of the car ready for final assembly.

It looks so good, love the wheels and tires...I'm gettin excited, I got to go to the garage and dust off my car now. It's the only way I can settle myself down, .....then it's a cold shower.

I love yanking Deans chain, he is so maticulous with all his toys. I have managed to get some small road rash on mine. I call my nicks -Patina and there is a story behind every blush on my car. Get er done Dean.

Clois, probably on the driveway getting out to the main road! :-) Dean, any word on WHEN the engine install will happen? Looks great, and the exposed rivets in the hood make it look really cool.

Dean, your car is looking great. I really like your car with no stripes.
Will be anxious to see the underhood goodies, including the faux-Lucas firewall wiring harness.

Thanks for the complements guys, the car is really coming along nicely. The side pipes will come out of the side eventually. I haven't cut the holes. I have some fiberglass molds also that Hurricane gave me to make a template for future cars. Since this is really the first car and the molds where changed a little, we didn't want to make any cuts until the engine was in the car. I do like the 289's but they were not ready to build one for me.

I have big plans for the weekend. More pictures to follow soon.

Dean, is Hurricane going to offer a 289 body style? I had hoped Arps & Burroughs would do so, but they sold off first. I do know they had a 289 body sitting on one of their frames, I saw it in Lee's Summit.

I actually asked Hurricane if there were any plans for a 289 FIA and the answer was not in the near future. They might consider a second model but it appears it would be a couple.

Just before Hurricaine was sold the first time, I almost had a frame and inner tub shipped to me to put one of my bodies on, but time ran out and the company was sold. I still make the Slab and FiA bodys that fit the Hurricaine frame, sumbuddy want to send me a frame/tub?, presto, 289 Hurricaine . http://rides.webshots.com/album/577255095igXDvY
