Here is my Cobra with the Vette parts. I am on a trip and wouldn't be able to post other pics until I get home. Looking forward to a cruise in the Adirondacks with some Cobra guys from Vermont a week from Saturday!

Default where am I

Sorry to be gone so long, but when Travis and Dana delivered the car I disappearred into the garage and went to work. Replaced oil pan(with problems), fluid fills found problems, had to redo entire alternator bracketing and belt. trans leak and hydraulic clutch leaks repaired engine wiring and plumbing almost done. MCOO arrived today so will be visiting the SOS. Redid some brake issues. Still need to prime engine oil circuit, fill with coolant, prime fuel lines, install distributor and connect HEI and tach. probably fire on Fri. or Sat. Also need to remount shoes and rough in suspension settings so it will drive to chassis shop for final alignment.

What kind of an intake manifold is that? Looks like an Air Gap, but....not really sure....

It won't be long now! Are you going to go to Shell Valley and take delivery there or have it shipped to you?

Cheers!

It's the EDELBROCK Endurashine PERFORMER RPM DUAL PLANE INTAKE MANIFOLD.

Shell Valley is delivering the car in a few weeks (after SEMA in Las Vegas) I cannot wait to bundle up and take it for a cruise!

Expansion tank appears to not be at highest point of cooling system?

That AN section (largest AN fittings and lines I have ever seen by the way) from the engine to the expansion tank just looks weird...And out of place.

The rest of the car on the other hand looks awesome! Very exciting stuff.

I know what you mean on the fittings. I've had some dialog over that and I am hoping it will look better once the carb and air cleaner assembly is mounted. I am very excited!

The issue isn't so much appearance, it's the elevation of the "elbow" being higher than the fill cap on the expansion tank:

I think you need to worry about air pockets interfering with coolant flow...I might be wrong, but most engines need an air-bleed at the highest point in the cooling system, which is usually the radiator cap on the radiator. On my Cobra there's a radiator cap fitting inserted into the upper radiator hose (I have no expansion tank, but do have an "overflow reservoir" mounted on the inner fender wall, much like a production car). On my car, the radiator cap is clearly at the highest point in the system.

Cheers!
