Glen,
Huge milestone, congratulations!
This is the first time we really get to see your FIA and it is impressive. The bodywork & paint look wonderful and the color is spot on.
Getting the motor & gearbox installed is huge and after that some plumbing and wiring to finish up, then the big moment will come to start it up and go for a drive!!!
The finish line is in sight, keep up the great work.
- Tim

The avatar? It's actually a kid's pedal car, made by a friend of mine. It's inspired of course by that other legend, the Bugatti Type 35.
It (the pedal car) was good enough to be on display at our National Motor Museum at Birdwood.
Cheers!

Quite right, Tim Been a few years now, I know.
Interestingly, seeing the "real" colour (rather than what I'm accustomed to seeing in my garage under artificial lighting) was a minor surprise - it did look nice
Still have plenty to do. Somebody else is working on it now, but I still will have a few official hoops to figuratively jump through.
Cheers!

If I may 'Pile on' Congrats Glen !! Huge Milestone !! The Cobra looks so right in the wide open space's, you must be so proud (We're proud of you), knowing you put every rivet, every wire, every extra personal touch to make this FIA yours. We can see the flagger @ the finish line Cheers my friend, Tom.

Well, it's my closest match/guess to Viking Blue on a car that I know .... ie a car from which I could obtain the colour spec.
Here's a (strong) hint...
....and here's more of a 'hint' ...
Cheers!
Glen
edit: I spoke with Trevor Legate years ago about the "correct" Viking Blue; he directed me to a specific picture in one of his books that was, in his opinion, the closest/best representation of Viking Blue ....so that's what I used as my starting point - and the 308 was spot-on

Tom,
Comments appreciated. There are still a lot of boxes to tick, but the pressure is off, temporarily
Cheers!

Glen, they may not know what it is, but there's no mistaking what it was built for 'Hauling a$$' Hot-Rodder's get it, because they know there's American V-8 in it. Sports Car guys know it was the end all to be all Sports Car. There is no mistaking the look of a Cobra. Funny story, as mine was still in Gelcoat, some neighbor kids with their 'Rice-Rockets' were looking over the Cobra (never raised the hood), they told me about their 2000Lbs, 200-250 HP cars, I said 'Thats Cool Guys'. Then I fired up the 526HP (427 S/O) everyone took two steps backwards There was no more talk about 200-250 HP cars Cheers Tom.

Well, he's been there in the workshop for nearly a week now, but no progress because of mechanics/COVID problems. Engine and gearbox still to be mated.
Anyway, I'm having a breather from Cobra-work, so just went to check on him today and drop off my loom and also the headers and a couple of other necessary 'bits'.
Nice view out from the workshop (it's new; you should see the old one )
Cheers!

Glen,
After the shop installs the motor & transmission, will they then complete wiring & plumbing and get the car running?

That's the plan, Tim. They will be doing the exhaust as well. I've supplied the headers; they will do the cats, the mufflers and the rest of the exhaust.
Cheers!

BJ, all I can say is that they are committed to having it finished as quickly as possible, given COVID (as in resource complications) limitations. As in most workshops, cars there are taking up space, and will be out the door as soon as is practical
I've known these guys for decades, and I trust them.
Cheers!
Glen
