Default ERA 3027 build

Figured I would start a thread since it's getting kinda close to getting the car. Next month will be 2 years since order and it looks like maybe in 6 months I could be getting it in the garage. It's a Big B's waiting on paint. Build is as follows:
ERA slabside (Brandon at big b is going to be addi g fender flares like csx 3472)
ERA optional rear
6 pin hubs
Big brakes
Chrome rollback
Complete ERA steering parts
Heater
Misc other small options

Engine:
363, all machine work done by liking
Man o war 8.2 deck block
Lunati crank, molnar rods, mahle pistons
TRW twisted wedge 225 r heads, titanium int/exh pac springs
Custom lykins solid roller
Morel solid roller lifters
T&d shaft mount rockers
Kinsler itb efi controlled by fueltech ecu

Suspension:
Penske double adjustable coilovers
Sway bars front rear
Rebuilt jag xjs with auburn posi and 3.55 gears

Transmission:
Jerico/g-force 4 spd toploader dogbox
Still deciding on clutch

The car is at paint. I have the long block completed, just waiting on the kinsler intake to get here. I just started on rebuilding the dif. Got it cleaned and blasted, just need to paint it and put it together. I will post pics as the work continues....getting excited!

Finished Cerakoting the timing cover, valve covers and diff housing this weekend. Came out awesome, hopefully get the intake manifold this month and I can coat that as well.

Going to try and start a vlog on the build. Will be rebuilding the diff this weekend and post a video on it.

Gorgeous lump.

Why bother with a slab side if you're just going to add flares? Why not start with an FIA or something?

I don't believe the ERA rear fits in the slab sides...Only the Jag.

I'm thinking you meant CSX 2472. The Dragonsnake is my all-time favorite small-block Cobra. Can't wait to see the finished car.

Agreed, 2472 is a great looking car. It's quite distinctively different looking from an FIA Cobra or a 289 roadster; it's more like a factory hotrod, which I suppose it is.
The flares along with the FIA wheels add nicely to its appearance.
Not many 289 Cobras were painted green, and the "British green" on 2472 is its original colour. Instantly recognisable!

Yeah sorry, csx 2472 dragonsnake.

If you look at the early comp cars they are slabsides with flat flares added for the larger wheels. I think late 1964 they went to the molded widebody, its a different look.

That is correct, the ERA rearend does not fit under the slabside body (its a little over an inch wider per side). Since I am adding flares it will not be an issue.

going for the gasser look...lol. No I will have to cut them down. Kinsler sent me the 5" stacks because I did not know exactly what the clearance would be and best overall estimated power was using the 5" stack. From valley area to top right now is a little over 13".

Talked with Peter a last week, he said the car is just waiting to be packaged up and then I can get it shipped to me. Changing directions and getting it painted here in Texas, still going to do the fender flares (csx 2472 dragonsnake). I chose a color....Army Green, Toyota color. Also changed the transmission, getting a TKX from Liberty with 1-4 faceplated. The last change is the rear suspension, unfortunately the factory supplying ERA with the hub carriers burned down and its not looking like they will be sourced any time soon. Talking with Peter I can always upgrade later once they source the hubs again.
Hoping to post an "arrival" video in the next month or two.

I thought that fire was like three years ago? So, getting an ERA outboard braked rear right now is no longer an option?

My car is getting close and I don’t want to settle.

If a new casting supplier isn’t online, why not machine from billet? The carriers look pretty straight forward. If you do a batch on CNC it shouldn’t be crazy higher than cast.

I guess I will discuss with Peter.

I honestly didnt want to pressure Peter on the issue. If Peter has the engineering drawings of the hubs i am sure it could be loaded into CAD and cnc'd out of billet aluminum.
I am excited to get the car and will upgrade when the ERA rear is available.

Swapping out the Jag rear for an ERA rear is a pretty sizable PITA. The odds are you'll never do it. Pressure Peter now for the drawings and get it CNC'd, otherwise you're likely to live with the Jag rear forever.
