Patrick,

I did the swap on 755. Mechanically pretty straight forward, but it was pricey.

I plan to discuss with Peter.

John, sounds like there are three of us already. I originally ordered the ERA rear and would still prefer to get it. Even if it means slightly higher cost for billet hub carriers

the alternator mount is from Jones Racing. I got their alternator, waterpump pulley/mount kit.

Alright! Peter sent a message today, should be packed up and ready for pickup 11/9. Cant wait to get it in the garage. Hopefully ha e it by the end of November.

ERA is almost done packing everything up, I just sent the final payment so I am hoping to ship by end of month.

As far as the engine, I spoke to Brent at Lykins when I was ordering parts and really had only one request...I want to spin it to 8K. I plan on doing a lot of autocross and occasionally do larger events at COTA in Austin. With that said Brent pretty much put together a list of parts for me and did all the machine work. He sent them all to me and I assembled it. Specs are below:

sbf 363
Man o War iron block w/billet caps 4.125 bore
Lunati crank 3.40 stroke
molnar rods
mahle pistons total seal rings
clevite coated bearings
TrickFlow Twisted Wedge 225R heads with titanium intake/exhaust valves PAC springs
Lykins custom solid roller cam
morel solid lifters
Kinsler ITB manifold
Jones racing accessory drive
Fueltech engine management

Thats sorta the big ticket stuff, the rest is regular engine stuff, cometic HG, ARP bolts, Aviad pan, etc.

Kinsler did a virtual dyno test when they were designing my manifold and depending on the intake runner length power was in the 650 range.

I plan on building the headers/exhaust and running TKX transmission. I was going to use a raceprepped toploader but it would be nice to have overdrive for local cruises.

Did the ERA Outboard Braked Rear no hub carriers manufacturer problem resolve itself?

That is a wicked engine; about as good as it seems to get for an NA Ford small block with a 8.5" deck height...I wonder if anyone makes 180° headers that'll fit...but I digress...

I venture to suggest that it's the frame, chassis, body, suspension, and overall cohesion and quality of the parts used to build the car...

I'm getting a slabside, so the ERA rear was already out for me! Would've liked a modified Mustang IRS over a Jag, but hey...

Yeah the ERA rearend option would have been nice but honestly its easy enough to fab up a rear suspension similar to the originals or replicate the ERA rear. Weld up some hub carriers and some trailing arms....done deal.

They are very busy and some of the key guys are working part time.

Peter is limiting some options to make it easier to get cars out.

They no longer sell side curtains. He let me get detailed photos and dimensions so I could make my own. They are almost done.

They no longer sell floor mats with the logo. I get floor mats and have a company on Etsy making the logo to be stitched on. They will look just like the old ERA mat.

My goal is to get all of the options I want and have them look like ERA supplied them.

I have often wondered what will happen when Peter, Bob, the Kirkhams, etc. hit retirement age. It's not a business you step in to if you haven't been groomed for it and have a passion.

It will be a dark day when the craftsmen of yesteryear begin retiring. The big thing that makes ERA stand apart is they captured the original look and feel of the time. Most of the other replicas feel mass produces and modern. Us lucky few who will have an ERA will have that same feeling that original cobra owners have which is owning a car built by true craftsmen. Cant wait to get my car in the garage.
