Brakes power assist or dual cylinders?
Master cylinders got a question. I contacted Mike at Tilton to match up my brakes, tires and pedals. I have Tilton 1” dia. Cylinders for both front and rear. Per Mike I need .750 front and 1.125 rear. This means I have to buy new cylinders. So I was thinking…
Is it better to have power assist or dual cylinders? I need to buy one or the other. |
If your speaking to Mike ONeil from Tilton becareful.
I contacted Tilton and spoke to Mike and gave the same calculations. The end result was that it did not work for my application. After questioning Mike he reply was " Results are not guaranteed since calculations require estimates for the vehicle center of gravity height, brake pad friction coefficient, tire grip, how much force this particular driver prefers on the pedal, and other factors. Regards, Mike O'Neil Managing Engineer Tilton Engineering, Inc." I went to Wilwood for my MC and life got better. Tilton is a great company dont get me wrong , just becareful with the information. |

I use 3/4" both front and rear. The bias bar is about 50% to the rear, and balance seems to be about perfect.

I have Willwoods, Ultralites, and twin masters with proportioning valve.They work great once you settle on the correct pad compound.
