I have owned Ford "FE" cars and motors since 1960. That "429" sure looks like an "FE" to me!

Would you mind telling me what exactly an "FE" is?

Default Shoulder Harness

FYI

The attachment location for the shoulder harness is not very safe. It should be attached below the shoulders and come up and over rather than in a downward angle.

Just to let you know.

I respect your opinion, but it is extremely safe. The harness attatches to three points bolted into the frame. When properly attatched, you can hardly move. I have seen many muscle cars with the same set up never having heard that it wasn't safe. It is completely safe.

Now that you have made everybody completely scared of the safety of the car, I can expect to not sell it here.....thanks!

Default I disagree!!

I respectfully disagree with you. It is hot how it is mounted but where. The shoulder harness should be located below the top of the occupants shoulders and come up and go over and back down so as to hold the driver down and back in case of a sudden deacceleration. Some tracks will not let you run with the single point mounted shoulder harnesses but require two independant straps. I dont feel that something as easy to change as the harness arrangement is the cause of the car not selling.

Relax, just Joshin ya. Perhaps the harness isn't "race track" certified, but it is quite safe for the road. As I said the harness comes down over the shoulders, bolts three places to the frame, and holds you nice and snug in the seat. I would think if it were not safe, it wouldn't be allowed on the road at all. The car was built in 1988, and with only 72 miles on it, has not been messed with hardly at all.

Thanks for your input, I will tell him and see if he will arrange it another way. No disrespect meant to you.

Dang! Freak,
I'm surprised you haven't sold that thing yet. Great looking car.
I would be interested if I was going to get a turn-key but I want to build. The process is important to me. I have stripped and restored several cars and there is some great satisfaction to going from a pile of parts to a "finished" project.

Good Luck.

Scott

I understand about wanting to build it yourself, I'm in the process of building a 70' Mach1 right now, you're right, the process of going from scrap to a mean machine is awesome. Somebody buy this car, it is waisting away as it is and it's killing me!!
