Jeb- I am curious also about your question regarding the headers. Is there something magical about tunnel port heads?

Sorry, my mind is obviously going, and it seems it is going obviously, as Turk is typing slowly so that I can keep up. I was confusing the SOHC exhausts with the Tunnel Ports.

Time for some gingko and a beer I'm thinking.

So much mystery associated with selling Cobra's lately...no questions allowed if you're not 'serious'? Personally, I talk to tire-kickers, I don't kick back. You never know, I'm not a mean person.

xcobraj 08-31-2002 06:12 PM

no engine cobra

can't seem to down load pic and info on your era with brain missing, the one in the car that is.please direct:rolleyes:

bonyhadi 08-31-2002 06:13 PM

how many hp at the rear wheels? do you have any dyno sheets you can fax me? does it use
any oil? did you rebuild those 2x4's?

Turk 08-31-2002 06:21 PM

The site that is hosting the detailed information seems to be down, and I did not keep a copy of what I posted there. I sent you some information via email. I don't want to try to relist everything in here I said over there, good way to get caught in my own lies! Patience, besides it will be cheaper tomorrow.

Wayne
Don't I have to get new primary pipes for my new engine and my new car? Could I have used the other headers with a TP?

Jeb
There is nothing wrong with your mind. It is "not going"! Don't worry about little things...
I thought I answered your questions as honestly and as straight as I could.
So I took a little JAB at Jeb at the end. Big deal. All in fun!!I am not planning on a SHOC. Just a TP.

There is NO mystery in my sale at all. A friend on this forum who has driven and ridden in my car is buying my engine because he is comfortable with the performance and the condition of it. 13 oil changes in 9200 miles. He also knows what I spent and has copies of every receipt.

I had no problem selling him the engine since I was planning on putting in a TP. I thought it would be easier than selling it on EBAy piece by piece.

Then I changed my mind and decided to get an aluminum car , and subsequently listed the rest of the car for sale. Where is the mystery?

If my car does not sell for a reasonable price I will keep it and put the TP engine we will go on. OK?

Melzer
If I take in a trade in it woud have to be something I can cash-out easily, easier than my car. The funds will be very much needed to pull of the other deal. Corvettes are not my forte.Thank you.

Turk & Jeb- the headers were reuseable on a T.P. .

Tom-In-Ohio 08-31-2002 07:19 PM

Dave Rodak,

Pantera....nice

Coupe......nicer. Go with the coupe.

but maybe you like Turk's pick.... Buick

I hope we don't share the same dilemma. It's the Cobra, or the Coupe, but NOT both. Decisions, decisions.

Tom

Dave Rodak 08-31-2002 07:29 PM

Both!

Well... I am considering both. Neither the Pantera or the Coupe can compete with my side oiler. I enjoy the thrill of buying the new car, the research and the anticipation. Realistically, I only need one toy and the Cobra has always been my dream car. I may need to call Dean Rosen about a coupe:3DSMILE:

Turk,

Best not let Peter or Bob at ERA find out that you are selling. After all of the "hey guys how is my car coming?", I'm sure they thought you'd want to be burried in the car. Hey from what I hear they can arrange that for you. You know how they are "connected". Don't want to dishonor the "family".

FIA Mike

Turk 09-02-2002 12:27 PM

I am a little worried about that!
Actually I am lot worried about that. I would have bet one of the partners would have bought the car, just to get me out of their hair!

I am also considering in giving them some more of my business!! I hope they don't find out! They'll pack up and leave.

Good luck with the new purchase

I'm sure shouldn't have any problem selling the beutiful Era of yours.
For the guys looking for a beutiful car highly recomend this one,
personally seen the car at the SAAC event parked next to the Shelby American trailer. I've seen so many cobras with different makes and could usually tell what manufacturer by the appearance. If I didn't know that Turk was going to be in the event and hadn't seen the pictures in gallery would never tell the car apart from a csx. I'll give the car 2 thumbs up.

Gordon Claunch 09-03-2002 06:22 AM

Darn Turk, If I could only hit that lottery, I keep trying!!

KeithBrown 09-03-2002 08:06 AM

Turk,

I saw that you were leaning toward a SAI. I am curious as to why you are leaning towardthe SAI vs, the Kirkham route?

Don't get me wrong, they are both great cars - just wanted to know your rationale - if you care to comment on it.

Regards,

Keith

Turk 09-04-2002 01:46 PM

Keith,
I was leaning towards an SAI, going back couple of years. It didn't work out.
I bought the best car out there, bar none. E.R.A!!

I have had the alloy fever for a while and it took three friends to make the switch. I thought Why Not?

As for Kirkham vs. Shelby, there really is not much more to it then, it came to dollars and cents. This made more sense to me.
Kirkham is a fine car, and would encourage all to consider when you get to looking at cars at this range.

Turk,

Thaks for the reply. I am sure you will enjoy your new car and Evan will be happy to have gained another convert;)

cobish 09-04-2002 05:20 PM

Hey Turk,
Your 200 a day cut on 53 k, remeinds me of some of
the mutal funds I had in 2000, like WWWFX, JAMRX, JAOCX ect. when the bubble burst, quit while you are ahead, you have a nice replica. Buying a kirkham or shelby 4000 CSX series for more money that can not be recovered on a resale is not a wise investment move, because it is still a REPLICA.
Unless you can aford to take 50 to 60 percent swings in losses with your money go ahead and knock yourself out.
It is only money. .:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:
PS let when it down to 12k I will send a cheque.
