ERA 427SC #50 N.E. REPLICA CHALLENGE WINNER
1998 Big Block Pro 2000 Street Prepared/Big Block winner 2000 Fast Time of the Day So you want a thrill ride? How about 550 hp and the wind in your face!! Fully set up for open track events, and still registered for the street . Fresh 427 s/o with all the goodies. Street and race wheel/tire sets, spring/ shock sets, plus all the original street parts like the windshield, interior, fuel tank etc, plus lots of spares, and documentation. It even can make the DB # for LRP and NHIS. And it's faster than Cranky's #99!!!!! I drive it in CT on the street just like this. Stand out from the other "clone" replicars at cruise nites and club events. This car has a long history in SAAC NE events, and a checkered resume that includes being a former show winner, featured on local broadcast TV and commercials, and winning in open competition events. It was even owned by Peter Portante for a short while!!! For a detailed spec sheet, E-mail me at a427sc@aol.com Negotiable. 1500 lookers and no offers? See you at NHIS, LRP, Pocono, the Glen, and Rausch Creek. For pictures, click on link below E-mail bids to a427sc@aol.com...http://www.replicachallenge.com/Dsc00042.jpg |
Don,
I understand you are selling your 427 so that you can build a small block. Some guys are slow learners, but sooner or later they smarten up. Good luck with the sale. X |
Don,
If you make it to the Glen this Oct. and let that sleepy big block wind it out on the back straight, you will not want to sell, the Glen was made for big cube power. Have a great time at NERC and see you in Oct. Roger |
Still the fastest 427 FE in the North East.
(road course on DOT's at least, no drags for me) So try it one more time. |
so, what kind of lap times do you turn at NHIS in that thing...assmuming you use the road course, front straight, Turn 1 and 1A, turn 2, right-up the hill, down into the bowl, up through the trees and down the hill and right-onto the main track...

Jeff,
At the North East Replica Challenge this year, running both North and South chicanes, I ran a 1:17.506 (Fast Time of the Day). This is on the recently reconfigured track (late 99), on Hoosier Street TD's (DOT tires), with full 99db mufflers. To get to 99 db, I have to run quieter than on the street. Have you run there? With what car and what times? |
For a brief history of #50, see ERA mfg forum, Owners check in.
This also puts me ahead of McMahon and his buddys sold car. Anything to get ahead of him. |
Don,
I guess your car is still for sale? It is probably not too easy to sell a replica race Cobra. I think most buyers are looking for a show queen or they want such a good deal that they can say they stole your car.At least you enjoyed your car the way CS intended them to be enjoyed. Anybody can win a show trophy, the real replicas set fast times. Good luck, Cranky [This message has been edited by RACER X #99 (edited 12-23-2000).] |
Don,
I'm crying crocodile tears...and to think I actually tried to console you after you blew the clutch in that 289 ERA at the Glen on the morning of the first day and had to go home. Guess its easier to drive an FE at the track since you're driving slower...couldn't handle the speed of the small block could ya??? SDW |

I'm sorry, I am sort of lost in the new forum format. Where are pictures? And what price are you thinking of?
Regards, Art in Baton Rouge. |
How about 25K, and a picture of McMahon in a rabbit suit    Sorry Don, could not resist...
Yours in Fords, Bill S. PS: You might want to put down at least an asking price for folks to look at.......... Quote:

...and will ya throw in the recipe for racoon road kill stew? Morty MacTavish |
That, AND the original racoon if it will make the sale

Ya know, Ol' 99 has such a wonderful checkered history that ERA ought to take it back to put in the ERA Museum and Hot Dog Stand planned for the long delayed New Britain Dewey Street Urban Renewal Project. (The actual site is the "Animal House" across the street from the shop.) Why a wax figure of 99's most famous "pilot" could be ensconced in the left seat. Bob could link it up with one of his super computers and it could be interactive (i.e. trade insults with passersby - just like the original). Mort MacTavish |
I'll take the money. When do they want it delivered?
Cheeks Hollywood...could you get me a free pass to visit and hang out? Well maybe not the hanging out part |
