...no mention of price. Guess if you have to ask, you can't afford it?

I've never seen an E.R.A finished quite like that one.
Obviously originality was not a major concern.

zacincceo 03-18-2003 09:00 PM

You are right, yet I feel my car is unique and isn't too far off from the original concept.... remember replica's are only copies, no one ever said they have to be exact. :) If you would like to seriously buy it, we can talk price. Otherwize your compliments, comments, even critisims are welcome!
Thanks

Excaliber 03-18-2003 10:16 PM

OK, heres a critique for you. It's really weird not listing a price for a car for sale. Personally, I hate that when I'm looking in the paper or where ever. Just wastes my time,,,,,,,

When I see a Cobra without a price, I just assume its way overpriced and disregard the ad.

zacincceo 03-19-2003 06:02 AM

You guys I'm not trying to jack up the price, or hide anything. I just do not like giving out too much information, that's just the wya I am.... honestly if you have any POSTIVE comments that would be better, yet I understand what your saying. All I was trying to say is if you want the car email me and then we'll go from there, that's all, nothing more.

Zac,

I think the guys here really echo the overall market sentiment. If you can't put a price on it from the word go, it makes the whole sale look kind of wishy washy, like you're not sure what it's worth. You might also consider unbolting the passenger roll bar and take some better photos, outside of the garage, with a lot of light. The small holes left in the rear deck won't show up that much in the photos. It might be a nice option for people that like to hit the track with a companion, and I am sure somebody can craft some good looking plugs to dress up the holes. Many buyers might be put off with the appearance of that 2nd roll bar, filling the holes is a pretty minor thing. The dash is an interesting twist. I always thought the raw aluminum was the way to go, but the wood dash is something that's fairly easy to change out if anyone so desires. Also, put some miles on her! It always looks strange to me when I see a car like that with so few miles. It's a nice car and should be fairly in demand given the fact that ERA is still unable to meet demand, and that you say you have the S/O 427. Good luck.

JWheaton 03-19-2003 07:38 AM

Zac,

From the pictures it looks nice. Most ERA's do not disappoint. You have obviously customized the car the way you like it. I think that is the best way to go. That is why I am building instead of buying. Although, every time I see an ERA I ask the question againa and again.

This may seem like a silly question, but is that 2nd roll bar functional. I recall once that ERA indicated that they could not put in a functional 2nd roll bar.

You should do well selling it.

jhl1963 03-19-2003 08:01 AM

I dig the paint scheme with the yellow hash mark, like Bruce Meyers CSX. Nice car, a bit more customized than most ERAs which is where I think the other guys comments are coming from. However, if you are truly interested in selling the car (not like the typical car show where every car has a for sale sign and has a price) I suggest you post your number ($).....

Thank you very much for some kind comments. Just took the car outside and more nicer pictures to come.... the 2nd roll bar is totally functional and I feel looks great.... I am looking to get around 60 out of the car..... high maybe, yet I feel it is worth that, it was appraised for around 68,500. We have put close to $70 k in in.... Please do not bash me for this price, if you have anything to say just say what you think it's worth, thanks and hope you all like the new pics to come.

I thought that the 427 ERA cobra came with an aluminum engine compartment & a riveted or bonded hood scoop?

zacincceo 03-19-2003 08:39 AM

It does have the bonded hood scoop.

JWheaton 03-19-2003 09:03 AM

Tongue,

Those are options with ERA, not in the base package though.

Zac,

This is not meant to bash your price. You may get that or near that amount. You have to realize the the mods that you made AND paid for, might not be what someone else wants and they might not pay for them.

If i were you I would save the hood you have and get another one made to sell the car with. It is a nice painting on the underside of the car.

zacincceo 03-19-2003 09:12 AM

I do appricate your comments, good idea yet if I want to sell this car it prob wouldn't make much sence to just get another one seeling this is the car I built for me, so if I built another one it would look exactly like it lol :D New pix here, enjoy.

Very nice looking car, looks like you put alot of time into it. I believe as the others in these postings, putting a ball park price as to what you want was a good idea. Again, NICE LOOKING CAR!

Excaliber 03-19-2003 10:46 AM

High 60's isn't to far off the market price for an "exceptional" ERA, perhaps a bit on the high side with the current market trend. But it looks like the higher end cars are holding their value better than the lower end cars. Hmmm,,,will be interesting to see how this pans out. Like the used cars salesman says. "I'm looking for ONE guy who WANTS to buy THIS car."

Your mission is to find him!

seems folks want to know the price . seems you don't want to post it. most on this site have friends who are always on the look out for a car, i do. and when i see one in their price range, then i forward the ads to them. when i don't see prices, i delete it. so, think about 65 k starting price and then deduct for non original appearing items, ie, the cost to change back : underside paint hood, wood dash etc etc etc...wow, that gets ya back to reality. but then again, maybe you have already adjusted your 'hidden personal' price for those thoughts ! not being a smart arse here, but you don't want a 40k offer , so why not list the price and let folks know what the starting point is. delete. bill.
