I am not going to say that I had "no money considerations" at all, but I learned from several "crate engine" owners that their engine has "no warranty" and several engines didn't even make it to 1,500 miles. I figured why buy an engine that is going to leave me stranded and cost thousands to have it removed and fixed. I decided to have the engine "overbuilt" and have all of the optional items done in the original purchase of the car. As I said before, Competition Motorsports (Performance Engineering) has made several "custom" engines in the hundreds, they have long since got the process down perfectly. There is not a time I drive the car that the engine doesn't "Shock And Awe" me.

Bandit !
This is a bit off of the subject, but you wouldn't have the website for Performance Engineering?
Thanks

I'm thinking that that is true!
The used value is an interesting dilemma at this time, for buyers. There is a West Coast Cobra with a 460 @$44.8K at cobracountry.com, a Superformance 460/600 hp for $47.5K obo, a Classic Roadsters 460 for $27.5K, your Cobra for $44.0K, another Super 460 crate for $55K, another Super 393" Ford crate $42.5, so the prices are all over the map.
I guess used value is in the eye of the beholder. You have an outstanding example, but at this time and in this market, it's not necessarily priced under market, but at market at $44K from a buyer's point of view.

You've got a good point. I didn't say that the noted cars were apples to apples, but the Cobra market has gone south at this point with a combination of one of the top brands and a 460 engine with a reasonable compliment of extras at around $45K-$45K at this point. Of course, this situation may be like the stock market and at the low end at this point.

I think it is hard to price a Superformance in good to great condition under 40,000. The roller is at 38,000 to begin with. So unless there is a divorce or worse happening I think you'll be hard pressed. Remember the guys that build these things are spending 60 + thou on a toy... most have an additional 1mm sitting in a brokerage account somewhere. They will wait for their price. Bandits car, @ 44,000 is IMO is an undervalued price... even for today. I'll bet if you ask nice he'll let you have it for 43,000 and he'll pay for shipping. Why dont you ask??

For Sale threads
Fellas... I will ask you to please move your discussions of the general marketplace and competing vehicles to another thread.
In the Cobras for Sale Forum, we try to limit responses to specific questions about the car directed to the seller, from interested buyers. "Sidetrips" are distracting from the purpose of the thread.
Thanks
Ron

To make this "the deal of the century", I am lowering the price of the car to $43,000.00. The first person here get's a awesome vehicle. I am still offering to drive the car to the delivery destination with the buyer paying for the cost (this should save people atleast another 50% off of the delivery cost). As far as buying a new Superformance Cobra, you see the "loss" I am taking with the market. If you decide to sell the car in the next couple of years, the value of this used car should actually go up. I am e-mailing all interested parties with this notice.

Bandit: From this post, it looks like it's going to sell at that price.
How strange is it that Superformance #890 is now posted for sale at this site ($42K). That is just one number off your Cobra.

The new Cobra is going to be a supercharged (under the hood or 8-71) 557 c.i. Big Block.

Bandit 1 - Awesome car and I am sure you'll get your price.
Just out of curiousity, why would you take such a huge loss on this car ($20k or so) and then do it all over again with a brand new one instead of just changing this car over to a supercharged configuration?
