I will do that - I promised the guy today to finalize the transaction by the end of next week or put him in contact with other potential buyers.
The assistance from this entire group has been awesome.

Vegan2,
I just read your post about the ERA. Here is something to think about... 1) it costs up to 20k more to build one like that one with an FE in it, pin drives, etc... 2) There is at least a 1 to 2 year wait for one new, 3) If you don't buy it, I have a friend that might pay you a $500 finders fee for the car if he buys it. 1+2+3=(No Brainer), or I guarantee you you'll kick yourself in the a$$ later once it's sold. When these guys say "Buy It", they know it's a no-brainer.

I think the point is that anyone that owns an ERA knows the price of one, and they seldom sell it that cheap unless its a real beater. I looked at an older ERA for $37k, it didn't have the pin drives and needed some engine work. but othewise respectable enough at that price. As for the ERA for 33k, I imagine it's either misrepresented, as the www.erareplicas.com site suggests (and it really does happen), or it's one of the first 50 cars made and in need of everything from drive train, running gear and skin.
ERA is pretty easy to determine, so I would be curious to see a picture of this car. If it's as you say it is vegan, I wish you a lot of luck, but be very careful, there are a lot of deceptive deals out there, sometimes a used car dealer takes one of these cars in and just says, ERA, and it really might be a modified corvette frame with a cobra body purchased on eBay. have somebody that knows ERA look at the car before you write the check, check on this forum and ask for someone to look at photos without disclosing the location and license # and see what folks in the know have to say about it.

Actually, the ERA that I'm looking at is an older version, but after checking with ERA, there has not been any material changes since this one was built. The seller has informed me of what needs to be done, some miner paint issues, and what he would do to bring the Cobra up to show level condition. The interesting part is that the seller has outlined a very special scenario relating to his participation when the Cobra was built by ERA and can easily be verified and if true, it sets up a level of trust that is not normally available when you are looking at a used car, even a Cobra.
From the posts here today, I'm more of a buyer than I was this morning. Thanks for the input.

Man, there is something wrong about being over helpful! These dogon guys have have talked you into buying that ERA. NUTS!!!!
Seriously , these guys are a fount of knowledge and have helped me in selecting a "roller" Hi-Tech, I knew nothing about but purchased it on their reccomendation. My friend has a ERA and he was going to give me a deal on it and it is ANOTHER $12,000.00 above the one you are talking about. If you don't buy it remember me! good luck

As to the time to buy comment, I know of an ERA with a 428 FE in the $33K range at this time. There is a Unique at cobracountry.com for $29K (small block) and one for $35K with a 351 and another one just reduced to $35K.
So it just may be the time to buy, as it's not the time to sell.

He has an odd prose that comes off as sarcastic. I've read this post several times and as it progresses it seems more and more like a game, made up. Please dont take offense if you are not used to writing in english.

If you will look a little closer, my "prose" only gets "odd" and perhaps a little sarcastic when confronted with odd, sarcastic or boorish prose.

Actually, I'm talking about you, for example, why would you put a 351 engine in a Cobra? Was it the lower cost?

Gentlemen...
I suggest we all take a step back and de-personalize this discussion, without malice.
Thanks

No, it's $33K with an 428FE (stock except for a long duration cam), Ford 4-speed close ratio "Top Loader" with heavy spline, real pin-drive Halibrand magnesium Cobra wheels. It does have 10,000 miles on it, but I actually feel more comfortable with that fact versus a lot of Cobra's on the market that have virtually no miles. That's another Cobra buying dilemma, i.e., what the deal with buying or buying and building a Cobra and not driving it?

Actually thats an interesting point about a used Cobra with some miles on it. If I'm buying used, I'd RATHER have one with a some miles on it. A brand new one may not have the "kinks" worked out.

This might help with more info on that ERA
ERA - 428 cubic inch FE engine - medium rise manifold with Holley 800 double pumper. The engine is stock except for a high rise long duration cam. The transmission is a Ford 4-speed close ratio "Top Loader" with heavy spline. The rear end is a Jag IRS with rare 2.88 gear ratio (Canadian 2+2 E Jag). Has real pin-drive Halibrand magnesium Cobra wheels and mounted Goodyear Eagle 50-series tires. It's in California.

As luck has it, I have money and, apparently, you don't (right now). In addition, nothing that you say has any impact on me or my buying habits.
With that said, your use of white trash words will not get you anywhere in life.
