Wanted: Cars For Sale at Spring Fling
I'm currently in the market for a 427 S/C or 289 FIA replica and am trying to identify sellers who plan on attending the Spring Fling events June 20-22. I will be at the London show on Sat 6/21. I would consider Superformance, ERA, Unique, Contemporary, FFR or ?
If you have a car to sell please drop me an e-mail with your car type, brief specs and enough contact info that I can find you on the weekend. I'll be glad to contact those who will send me a phone number prior to Friday to coordinate a meeting.
Thank you! Mark W.

not at Spring Fling...
Update 06/30/03: SOLD!
Ken's Blue Unique listed above was sold today. The guy got a nice car for the money. There were several calls on the car, and the first guy that came out bought it!
----------------------------------------------------------
MarkW,
No need to go to Spring Fling to find a nice car. Here it is. Check out Ken's car if you want a nice Unique 427SC at a great price. I'm sad to see him sell it (he's panicking already) and I can tell you first hand that you cannot build one like this for near what he is selling it for. Only 3,300 miles. It's on Cobracountry. I bet him it will be gone by July 1 at this price if he doesn't change his mind by then.
REDUCED! Unique Motorcars 427SC Cobra. Sapphire Pearl Blue/Ford Performance White stripes. Under the hood: FE 428 x-block (c7me-a), approximately 430 hp, 427 low rise heads (c3ae 6090 h) with 427 Cobra aluminum valve covers, 750 Holley Pro Series carburetor (hly-0-80529-1), polished turkey pan with Stelling air cleaner with K&N filter, Edelbrock aluminum water pump, aluminum breather, 280h Comp cam, MSD 6al ignition, MSD pro-billet distributor, MSD blaster 2 coil, quick battery disconnect in trunk, original Ford brass surge expansion tank, Griffin aluminum radiator, Milodon racing oil pan. Riveted on hood scoop. In the cockpit: Smiths gauges (SC layout with reverse speedometer), AC original steering wheel, rolled body edges cockpit, black leather seats, orig. chromed emergency brake handle, Simpson seat belts, sun visors and wind wings. Halibrand-style GT40 PS Engineering 15" wheels with new 245/60 front tires and 295/50 rear tires, silver Jet Hot Coated headers and sidepipes, chromed rollbar, LeMans aluminum fuel cap, front & rear bumpers and additional chromed quick jacks, rectangular taillights, dual front fans and alum shrouding, transmission oil cooler with Earl's lines, Hella quartz halogen headlamps, windshield wipers, mirrors, aluminum gas tank, powder-coated frame, aluminum remote oil filter. Four-speed toploader transmission with Dan Williams Hurst Super Shifter linkage and shift handle, driveshaft safety hoop, et al. Carrera chromed coil-over adjustable springs and shocks plus front & rear swaybars and triangular stabilization. 3:31 positraction independent jaguar rear end, 4-wheel Wilwood disk brakes. Completed 2001, 3600 miles, perfect condition. Original owner, adult driven, never raced, show car. Reduced for quick sale: $38,000 firm. Duane,
Thanks for the lead. I'd seen Ken's Unique on Cobra Country. It's very sharp! I've got it on my list now at the new price. Looking forward to the Fling--then I plan to evaluate the options and pull the trigger. Thanks!

I just went on Cobracountry earlier in the day and saw that car...
One heck of a price and one beautiful car...
Was it Markw that bought it? If I was still in the market, that would be the Unique 427 for me... Congrats...

Last time I sold my Excalibur I got so depressed I went and bought it back from the guy. Yup, I had to come up with MORE money than I sold it to him for. OUCH!

Yes, I missed out on Ken's unique. I'd contacted him but I think he took the deposit the Monday after Spring Fling. Not much time to get out to NorCal from Chicago to have a look. Thats what I hate about work......always getting in the way more important pursuits I did get to ride in a nice Unique at the Spring Fling though. My neck is still sore from the take off.
Spring Fling was great by the way. Though I was only able to attend the show on Sat. the people I met were great and very forthcoming about their cars. I sure learned alot. So, I'm still in the market and talking to a few guys right now.
Ernie, I saw your car too. DV had another Gentleman driving it for the show. He was good enough to show it to me. It's a beautiful car. Very nicely done. There were some other beautiful Classic Roadsters at the show as well. I'm leaning towards a 90" wheel base car at this point.
thanks for staying in the discussion!
