Now the current condition of the car is in the process of doing the body work and prepping for paint. The car was driven 14 miles before I pulled it back apart for paint.
The only thing needed to purchase to finish the car is paint, spray glue for the interior, shift boot, hood and truck prop rods, cooling fan control, thermostat, crank pulley, and the correct speed-o gear. The heater hoses will have to be connected. Everything else is here, and the body has been glassed in. Take it to your local alignment shop and set the front end up with Mustang II specs.

There is a custom made park feature for the wipers so they park when you turn the switch off. It also has a clutch safety so the car can’t be started unless the clutch is fully depressed. The roll bar has been mounted and is currently removed while body prep and paint is being performed. Hood and truck have been mounted and latched. Side pipes have been mounted and holes cut. The car was complete and driven before body prep was started.
It is as complete as you can get.
I built this car to be street driven.
You can view some pictures in my gallery under fw209, I will post current pictures here very soon.

fred-
any more pics?
i'm up in milwaukee and have been looking.....i was thinking about a 351w stroked out, but might be convinced the street manners of a 302 would be preferable for the cruising i plan on. any idea where the hp/torque numbers come in on the finished engine?

I have to take a few more pics. Is there anything in particular you want to see? We figure that the engine will come in around 350 HP. It should be quite the little rocket ship and still not over heat in traffic.. The 4:11 gear with the OD trans should still be higway frendly at 70 MPH. Like I said I built it to drive, it is no fun to have it if you can't enjoy it.. & If I wasn't going to build a new house I would keep her.. But family first.. If you really want to upgrade to a 351. I have a 1979 long block I'll throw it in, it needs to be rebuilt but it is all there. You can swap the top end off of the 306 engine and with a 408 kit it should com in to the mid/low 400 HP range. If you want to chat give a call. The pipes and headers should be coming back from the powder coaters in the next day or 2.. I could always throw them on and you take her for a test ride and see what that gear does..
