Brad,
I'm in London, Ohio, just west of Springfield. Lots of Cobras here, and one, very, very fine one for sale. OK, two if you want to try your luck at a "Double Venom"
DV...Delivery? Heck drive it home or I'll drive it to you

Brad,
Heres the story; I built this car for a great guy named John Kirpsack out of PA. about three years ago. John's neighbor and truly great friend did all the body and paint work on the car.
Dark blue, with white "pearled" stripes, with just about every option available at the time. Not a racer! Just a well built cruiser, stock 302-holley carb and a T-5 tranny.
John has diabetes which has really taken his health down in the last 18 months. I don't want to go into details, but it became impossible for him to drive the car. In fact almost all of the 1,800 miles on the car were put on by his neighbor driving John around.
You could certainly look at the car today, take a ride in the car today, but I would want a full day to prep before releasing. Although we rarely take in trades, and have never done "consignments" when John asked if I could help him by selling his beloved Cobra I couldn't say no. If you're really interested I want my guys to go over the car from top to bottom before releasing it. I plan on doing the Oil and filter thing, perhaps a full alignment, certainly a "clean up" job and maybe a little polish before we sent it to a new home.
Some of the options: Roll bar, custom full length dash AM/FM stereo, vent wings, sunvisors, side louvers, really neat mags, etc., etc. Engine compartment is as clean as the outside, but of course with less than 2,000 miles it would be!
We're about 2 hours and 10 minutes from the North side of Cinn. real easy to find. Find your way to 70 east to Columbus. Just past Spring field about 20 miles, exit 72, London/ (I think it also says Sommerford) exit, turn left. Go to the first road, Old Columbus Rd., turn right, first drive on the left-3210-3212 Old Columbus Rd. If you get to the Marathon station you passed us!
John has well over 40K invested in the car but the selling price is right in you ball park. It wont go for 25K but you are close. Call me if you want to see the car, my cell is 740-837-0258. I will be away from the shop until mid afternoon. If you want to see it later in the afternoon or early this evening, that will not be a problem!
Since you are fairly new here, just some quick information on our shop, "Classics by Elite," and myself. We've been building custom cars and streetrods for well over 30 years. Cobras since the late 80's and am the proud organizer of a little event the Cobra family calls the "Double Venom Spring Fling"!
If your interested in knowing more just give me a call. There is still plenty of top down weather to enjoy this year!
DV... By the way.....Welcome to one of the greatest family's in the world!

Hey Brad,
Since you are new to the forum and don't know anyone, let me put in a vote of confidence for DV.
If you're looking for a Cobra and are in Ohio, it is going to be well worth you're drive to talk to him. People from all over the country bring their cars to him. He will show you everything you want to know about these cars, and won't sell you a car unless it meets his standards. Any car that goes through his shop is done right.
And don't let his modesty fool you... the "little event" known as the Spring Fling is an absolute can't miss event. I came home with more than I bargained for at this past event! The next one should be in June of 2004 in London, Ohio. Make plans now to be there.
Welcome to your new addiction and go let DV show you the ropes!
Steve

Now I know where London is! I've been an attendant to the Springfield Swap and Car Show for many years now (I've owned and restored a variety of antique and muscle cars over the years). Hate to hear about your friend. My budget is really tight to $25,000 right now, but hearing that story makes me want to stand up and do what a guy should do to help out a little. Lets talk further - my number is (513) 943-0329. I can make a trip any time this week if we can arrange ahead of time, but maybe this Saturday will work out better? Give you a little time to do what you have to do, and for me to do what I have to do! Let me know how much I have to blow my budget by and I'll see what I can do - I might have to get the bank involved, but that's no problem if we're willing to jump a couple of hoops they typically bring into the picture. Be seeing you real soon I hope! Brad

Know the guys at Dynamic very well - they're the ones that got me "bit"! Unfortunately, they're a little out of my budget right now. I'm just a new guy on the block looking for something a little more "introductory" right now, and I really need to stick to my budget of 25G. If anyone out there knows of something, please give them my e-mail address or my home phone. Thanks
(And by the way - I can't wait to see DV's place. Gonna call him tonight!)

DV and I have already talked, but we couldn't quite strike a deal. Just from our conversation I could tell he's a great guy! I'm already planning for the next Spring Fling! If I could have done so, you can be sure I'd have made something work. Thanks for keeping a look out though!

My apologies to everyone. I have been out of town quite frequently the last few weeks working some long hours. Unfortunately, I have no way of keeping up with my e-mail on these trips. An update to all - I have purchased Rick Carnahans Black Shell Valley, but have yet to drive it. It is still in transit to my home as I write this response. I have had a very disappointing experience with the shipping company I hired, and I will detail such in this column later for all to be warned. As for all the wonderful people I have met through this column, let me say "thanks" to each of you - you've added so much excitement to my enthusiasm. I have had nothing but extremely pleasant experiences with each and every one of you, and of this Club as a whole! Wish I had the financial backround and space to buy all of your cars - each is intriguingly unique in its own respects. Hope to meet each of you some day in my travels. Maybe at the Spring Fling? I will let you know how Rick's car turns out when it arrives, and I will reply to each of your individual e-mails in time as such permits. Thanks again to everyone, and I'll be writing soon!

Brad, send me your email address and I will put it on the Ohio Cobra Club mailing list. To bad the car has not arrived yet. We are having a Fall Foliage Cruise through Hocking Hills tomorrow.
