Exclamation Count us in

Cammer,
Sounds like a plan to me!
Just need to know where to land the rig. We will come over from Gainesville, Fla.; have a track day there on the 21st.
I can't wait to see FF eat that crow

Hell, I'll bet the "Gasholes" will show up "in mass," just to see this too.

DT, you better keep the car after all this.

Gentlemen, I have been sidetracked on the pice my secretary had a emergency with some family in Illinois so I am here having to wear a dress and operate a business on nine jobsite and 42 employees. I will keep tryin the pics for later and Jay of jaycobras is coming next week to give me his opinion on the value of the car and that will let me know what to do with it. I am at this time thinking about selling the car and whether it is before February or not I don't know. FF the VIN# AC9CSLK1396AM1148. It has a reproduction wheels known as the Knock Offs w/lugnuts, has a Unilite electronic Ignition System, 5 spd Tremec Transmission#C-2605803, goodyear tires all good tread on them, Smith gauges in the console, both the temp set fan and the electronic twin cooling fans on a toggle switch in the console. I have with the car both the flat top cover leather and the rain top with the windows along with a full car size car cover. I don't know what the rear end is, I am still investigating that and as much spec info as I can get my hands on. Till later thanks

downtown...

you have an early car with an early serial prefix, hence your last 4 digits of 1148 convert to chassis number "148" most likely built mid year 1996 as my serial/chassis #156 was. your rear end if stock , should be the IRS unit from a 94-97 TBird with 3.73 gear ratio, limited slip. Those wheels were early stock wheels back when true knock off Trigos' were about an extra $2400 cost option. conversion today would also probably be at least that much for true Trigo or the newer SPF "WAW" knock offs. your brakes will either be the stock Ford brakes used then or perhaps the Willwood upgrades, which then were also about a $2400 option upgrade cost. Later the k/o wheels and willwoods were made standard with new price adjusted accordingly. is your roll bar painted black or is it stainless, as black roll bars were standard then and ss is now standard. stainless roll bar was also an option then . side pipes, are they painted or coated ? stock then was painted, not coated. is your steering wheel wood or the optional smaller leather wheel ? are your quick jacks chrome or painted ? chrome was extra cost. or do you have the chrome bumperettes instead of quick jacks. most of the later car evolving upgrades can be retrofitted to the early cars, no big deal and not much cost EXCEPT for the lowered footwell in drivers side, now standard and not available then. Your seats are also different than the newer cars, want more comfort ? add 2" of foam to the lower cushion. no big deal. current standard locking gas filler cap under the lemans cap is about $90 to install as a retro fit, easy 1 min job. any other options on the car, ie, green plastic sunvisors, front radiator stone guard, fire extinguisher ? all these items should fit into the value formula. what else do you want to know :? bill wells, spf #156, motown.

Bill Wells:
I have the TBird rear end and yes it has t he 3:73 gear ratio with the limited slip. It has 4-way disc brakes with the Willwood on the back set and the original Ford calipers on the fron still. It also has the true Trigo's the original owner just email that information along with the rear-end stuff. It has the black quick jacks with a Chrome covered roll bar on top of the black color original. The leather seats are very comcortable and padded the owner said he had the original ones reworked and the extra work feels grt. It has the one snap gas lid looks like unpolished aluminum. No visors on this car, has only one side mirror on the drivers side along with the rear mirror on the dash. No bumperettes. Thanks for the info.

"True" Trigos but they are bolt on? I don't understand that part.

Now when it comes to wheels I DO prefer an "original" LOOK but bolt on style with a "spinner/knock off" for looks. I like to be able to change wheels/tires for various track events and having a couple of sets of HIGH DOLLAR knock off wheels, simply put, cost to damn much!

16" Compomotive for me gentleman, they "look" pretty accurate, cost is not bad, and I can change out to some old Mustang wheels when I need different rubber for the day! To each his own!

Well gentlemen tomorrow is the day that Jay of jayscobras comes down from Dallas and appraises the car. After this I will know whether I will be selling it for sure or not. Maybe I can get him to help me with getting some pics of the car on the thread for you all to see my fortune. If I decide to sell I will offer it to members of this site first because you have all been so helpful with this for me.

Yes the day has come and Jay of jayscobras has made the journey to me and seen the car. He had to drive a three hour drive in five due to the traffic between Dallas and Austin but he meade it. The visual inspection and appraisal and note taking has been done now we wait for the research that he will do and give us the scoop of the legit of the car on Monday. I am so grateful for the effort he made and the courteousness he showed he truly is a Cobra Owner and admirer. Thanks Jay once again for the time and understanding of the car that you gave me I will thank of some way to repay the favor. Let's see what Monday has to hold. DownTown

Smile yep!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WELL, I HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM AUSTIN AND A TRIP THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ME 6+ HOURS TOOK ME TEN DUE TO THE WEATHER AND TRAFFIC. I HAVE ALSO JUST EMAILED DOWNTOWN JESSE BROWN THE PHOTOS THAT I TOOK OF HIS CAR.

NICE RIDE! I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. JESSE IS A NICE GUY AND IS VERY LUCKY TO SAY THE LEAST. NOT ONLY HAS A COBRA BUT A DAUGHTER NAMED SHELBY.

I NOW BEGIN WORKING ON THE APPRAISEL AND WILL HAVE THE FIGURES BY MONDAY. I DID HOWEVER ADVISE DOWNTOWN TO KEEP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT FOR A WHILE...HAVE FUN, ENJOY THE ONCE IN A LIFE TIME THRILL.

AS FOR PICTURES, NOW THAT HE HAS THEM, HE CAN POST THEM OR EMAIL TO WHOMEVER HE WANTS. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE POSTING PICS OF SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR.

I WILL TELL YOU THAT IT IS A VERY NICE SPF CAR WITH A 427 AND DUAL 4'S AT THIS TIME.

I AM ALSO LOOKING VERY FORWARD TO HAVING HIM AND THE CAR AT THE YEARLY TEXAS COBRA CLUB MEETING IN FEBRUARY. I AM ALSO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MEETING BETWEEN HIM AND FREDDIE. IF FREDDIE EATS CROW LIKE HE EATS RIBS, THIS SHOULD REALLY BE A GREAT MEETING.

JESSE, THANKS FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE CAR AND TO MEET YOU. NEXT TIME I SEE THE CAR IT BETTER HAVE THE TCC STICKERS I GAVE YOU ON IT.

JAY

A man of my word....to the bitter end. But...still no pictures. Crow's ready....knife sharpened....fork ready.....still no pictures.

No Pictures = No Crow

After all, a contract - either explicit or implied - is still a contract.

Talking Oy, Freddie....What kind of dippin' sauce are 'ya using?

Freddie,
Have you made a decision on the dippin' sauce you will br using with that crow? Honey/Mustard might go, and I hear some use B-B-Q, and Ranch might enter the picture in the Crow comes ala "Hot Wings". I feel sure it will be washed down with Dalwhinnie!!
Your friend in Texas,
