Default Highland Racing 427 FIA Cobra on eBay!

Check out the Highland Daytona racing 427 FIA on eBay. These are stunning turn key Cobras. I have one being built right now and can personally vouch for the high quality attention to detail and customer service that Rick Ellis provides.

Robert,
Are you selling your car or Rick's car?

Brent Mills makes ClubCobra Classifieds accessible to paying and non-paying users to advertise their own cars for sale. It is usually a privilege reserved for members who are contributors to the forum. Not necessarily financial contributors, but intellectual contributors.

Seeing that you have only two posts to your name, postings such as yours come across as nothing more than a self serving plug for a business who don't spend too much time with this community.

I will make a point to see what your first post was. Just curious.

Turk,

I am not selling my car, no way. I originally joined ClubCobra when I was doing research on the various Cobras available and had asked at that time if any members had knowledge of the HDR offering. My findings led me to actually purchasing a car from Rick Ellis. I was so impressed with the level of customer service that he provided and the product itself that I offered my services as an online marketeer for his company.

So yes, I am putting in a plug for Highland Daytona Racing, because they do indeed build stunning car, but this is not anything that others before me have not done on this forum and an awareness of their product is a justifiable contribution, dont you think?

Nice looking car. If you are reselling it or profiting from it's sale then it comes across as a shameless plug from someone with 2 posts.
Just think how much better your auction will do with a paid ad that shows up on the main forum page.

Did I mention it's a nice looking car.

Hey guys,

I am a classic car enthusiast who buys the odd car of his dreams, drives it and then sells it and moves onto the next "dream car". I simply can't afford to keep more than one car at a time. Ebay is a good tool to assist with my hobby. I am not a dealer, I am an enthusiast who just happens to be turned on by the same thing you are and yes, it is a nice looking car.

Look, now you guys have made me double my number of posts in one evening!

Sure looks like commercial advertising to me, and not "just an enthusiast". Shameless plugs for HDR are old news. I have nothing against the company, just it's tactics at times. Some folks might not remember when they first showed up here, and how their own advertising tactics bit them in the behind, but I do.

"California Motorclassics sports and racing car specialists in association with Highland Daytona Racing proudly offers for your consideration the Extreme Performance 427 FIA Cobra"

No, your not a business coming here and using this site as your free advertising medium. Your just an end user giving thanks to the car in which you may own.....Sorry, I think not....

To set the record straight.

HDR offers its customers an incentive program that provides for upgrades or parts to the value of $1000 for every lead that generates a vehicle sale. As a customer and firm believer that their product is the finest available of its type I have created an online advertisement in the hope that I can generate some sales that in turn help finance my build.

I am an enthusiast and not a commercial car dealer. If my advertisement looks to be of a commercial quality then I take that as a compliment. I for one would like to see more advertisements of this type as I find them very informative. When I first joined CC I noticed a similar plug for the Kirkham cars and the link to the eBay auction taught me a lot more about their superb offering than I had previously be able to find. Admittedly, Kirkham has been a major contributor to this forum, so I do not expect you to police him as you have me.

Thanks for making us newbies feel welcome!

So Robert, what your saying is that your not a dealer for HDR, just "putting a plug in" as a satisfied customer?

Robert...
Let me set the record straight, so that you don't misunderstand some of the reactions here....

"Thanks for making us newbies feel welcome!"

When a new member's first post contains a commercial-appearing advertisement... and his signature is appended with a company name...that is spam. It's not looked on favorably. Turk's reaction was appropriate.

The Kirkhams are a paying advertiser on this site.

By the way, so is HDR.

If you follow the logic... your post, but made by HDR themselves, would not have met with such opposition.

Finally... I guess you are really not selling "a car" but, rather, "futures"

You are welcome to stick around, as all enthusiasts are welcome.

Sorry Ron, I'll have to tip my hand here and respectfully submit the following other information in my system.

Notice his new business web site was created on July 13th, 2003. Roughly the same time he joined this forum.

Bill...that doesn't really matter.

The issue has been explained to Robert...and that's sufficient.

Nothing further is necessary.

Please avoid discussions in the For Sale Forum.

Like I said in my reply to Turk, I offered my services as an online marketeer to HDR. This was in return for upgrades should I help them sell any cars. And yes I did register hdrcobra.com so that I can showcase my car when it is completed. When this site goes live I will be sure to let you all know.

I guess that the fact that I do marketing for a living, albeit not for the auto industry, adds a level of suspicion to my posting.

HDR has been kind enough to list me as the California contact for their vehicles in the hope that this will assist in my effort to gain some qualified leads. If I can gain sales for HDR, who as mentioned previously is a paid advertiser on this forum, while building credit toward my build then all the better for all concerned.

I guess the right thing to do would be to move this post to the appropriate area and in future I will post accordingly.

By the way Ron, thanks for setting the record straight.

Robert.

Robert,

You can call youself anything you like, but lets face it, your trying to sell, or act as a salesman/dealer for HDR, otherwise, why would you have the email address "sales@yourcompanyname"

Just calling it like I see it as an end user, and now a paid advertiser of this website.

You want to sell products here, I have no problem with that. take the chance, spend the money on a banner ad, just like the rest of us did.
