1965, eh? yea.
You might include the car number, as it makes a difference to some. Also sourcing of motor. Oh, and price. Saves everyone grief.

Lets see.... this car salesman joins the group so he can post his add for free (first post). He gives the full bla/bla/bla sales pitch. And........ he thinks he's pitching a crowd that might think that package is worth $59k.
That extra $15k he's asking must be his sales fee.
Am I the only one whos button that pushed?

I'm sure he just figured we wouldn't know any better.
Maybe someone should point him to cobra country so he can see them selling for 43K-45K.

59K? Didn't you mean 427 SOHC?
>That extra $15k he's asking must be his sales fee. Am I the only one whos button that pushed?<
Nope! as someone actively shopping for his personal version of the perfect car this stuff in beyond insulting!
>Maybe someone should point him to cobra country so he can see them selling for 43K-45K.<
Actually, two recent E-bay auctions have ended with Superformance cars going for 40K or less.
At least he didn't list the car in a "Buy It Now" auction with a price of 39,995 and include a link back to the dealer website showing the same car at 14,995 less? (since corrected!)
Sorry my very first post was so way off topic, but as someone with 30+ years in sales, this stuff is the equivalent of oral surgery without novacaine. And it only takes once. These guys could have exactly what I'm looking for the next time and I wouldn't go near 'em.
Regards,
Another Doug in da house

Sorry, we didn't mean to push anyone's buttons or to offend anybody. We're selling the car on consignment, and the owner controls the asking price. We're always willing to present an offer to him, but he has the right to accept, reject, or counter. We have paid to advertise the car at several other sites, but hoped to get it in front of a target audience here.
We also just brought in another Integrity Cobra this morning. It will be on our website in the next couple of days.

Classic: Don't sweat it.......this is a ruff crowd at times. People have a right to ask whatever they want for their cars.......what they end up getting is another story, however.
It looks like your guy has a nice car.........clean, popular stroker engine, nice rims, VERY low miles.....but it's not a 60K car. As mentioned earlier, he may want to check out the cars on CobraCountry. Personally, I wouldn't put much stock in what the cars are going for on Ebay.......could be people that REALLY need some cash and looking for a quick sell. There is an SPF on there now with a 38K "Buy it Now" price, but it's a much older car than yours, has a 351 crate, a stereo (which a lot of Cobra buyers frown upon) and has 31 THOUSAND miles on it.
Your guy may want to drop about 10K off his asking price and go from there. Heck, someone can go to Dynamic Motorsports and order a Brand NEW SPF, put a well built 408 or 418 from a reputable engine builder in it, and walk away for a lot less than 59K...........as long as they don't mind the waiting period (and at this time of year - especially in Michigan where you're at.....I doubt people would mind waiting a few weeks.
Just my 2 cents anyway....... Good luck!

Perhaps if your doing Cobras, and want to advertise them here, you should think about spending the money and getting a banner ad.
Humbly,
Bill S.

Heck I think it's totally OK for ClassicAutoGR to list a car for sale here. WITHOUT buying an ad or banner.
It's listed in the correct forum/thread and nobody else is paying to list there car there. I don't think it should make a difference if the listor is a "dealer" or not! BUTT, you can bet if ANYBODY, private party or dealer abuses the privilege, yeah, their going to take some heat over it!
If the the listor wants a better Ad then he can look into a "sticky"
($50) or a full "banner" type Ad.
,,,by the way, $60K? ha ha ha ha.........OK.

No way the seller will get his asking price, for all of the reasons listed above, but I do like the look of the '54 Caddy ! No idea of what it's worth, but I can see me in a cruiser like that one day...

I've been to Cobra Country and have not seen a newer (2001 or so) SP Cobra for 40k, most are 50k +. As for e-bay, just because
the auction ends at 40K does not mean the car sold. Most car
auctions I have seen on e-bay are people bidding because
they have nothing better to do and they never meet the reserve and the car does not sell. But like others have said, for 60k you
can buy a new one with a Roush 427 and still have a few grand
left for options.

Speaking of ebay and some price points, there was an SPF # 685, it was white with blue stripes. It had 31k miles, a crate 351 and A/C and an impressive stereo system (subs/amps/changer) and it had the front fans to boot. The buy it now price was 33k. That I thought was a pretty strong deal for someone, however, it's in a dealer's inventory and that never sounds good. plus the hi miles (relatively speaking of course) might signal some other issues. Did anyone else run across this car?

frankym,
Is the the same on that is now in the "For Sale" within this forum? "Superformance #685 for sale $35,750" Seems like a pretty good deal, owner (I think) sent some great photos that were taken in what appears to be a garage.
