My car went to a great new home!!
This is a really beautifully built and finished FFR. Please check out the pictures at

The specs are as follows:
Engine is 302 Cubic Inches from a 1992 Mustang GT. It is fuel injected with all the stock components minus the pollution control devices. The Mustang wiring harness was professionally trimmed with all unnecessary wires and connectors removed. The harness was then re-raped and all connectors were labeled. The engine retains the diagnostic terminals so any Ford Dealer or well-equipped shop can plug in and find any problems quickly.
The engine is stock, reliable as a stone axe, and pulls very hard. The transmission is a T-5, 5-speed unit. The headers are from Ford Motor Sports and are 1 5/8-inch ceramic coated. They feed into the Factory Five side pipes that are also ceramic coated (Jet Hot). The Radiator is a new 3-core type, with electric fan. There is an inertia cut off stitch to kill the engine and fuel pump in case of impact.
The frame is factory powder coated gloss black. The undercarriage features Mustang lower control arms in the front, with Proshock coil over shocks and springs. Steering is handled with a Flaming River Rack and Pinion unit with 18:1 ratio (like power steering with “feel”). I also use the rag-joint eliminator and steering shaft. The rear is a Mustang limit slip differential with a ratio of 3:08. The suspension is of the 4-link type with Proshock coil overs . The ride height is completely adjustable. The car is presently at the factory recommended height of 4.5.
The rims Cobra R style 17-inch wheels, with Kumno Ecsta Supra Tires, 245-45ZR17 front 275-40ZR17 Rear
Brakes are electric boosted power brakes from a Buck Grand National, very strong and responsive.
Interior
The gauges are Autometer “Classics” with a reverse direction speedometer like the original. There is a custom made fresh air system to both the drivers side and passenger side foot boxes, with individually controlled blower motors and cable operated open and close doors. There are two power take off (cigarette lighter sockets) under the dash and out of sight. They are mounted to an aftermarket under dash panel. One is wired always on, and the other goes on with the ignition. The entire cockpit area is insulated form the engine compartment and there is no heat transfer trough the metal.
The foot pedals are aftermarket aluminum units, replicates of the original “A. C. ones. The accelerator is from Russell Automotive much smother that the stock unit. A Forte firewall adjuster and clutch quadrant were installed.
Steering wheel is a Moto Leta, with aftermarket bezel around the steering column.
The seats are Corbeau Classics with adjustable and removable headrest. The back of the seat is level with the rear deck with the headrest removed. The British door latches were rebuilt and strengthened using 7/16 bolts.
Exterior
Color is Mercedes midnight blue with Lexus solar yellow strips. The body was finished; prepped and painted off the frame (picture available) it has all the correct Cobra badges front, rear, and sides. The quick jacks (racing bumpers) are powder-coated silver.
The license plate bracket was machined from billet aluminum to replace the stock stamped steel, crack prone unit. Wind wings (clear) and sun visors (tinted) are in place. The windshield brackets were drilled and taped to hold the wings not threaded into the windshield-mounting bracket (like most). The brass strip in the windshield-mounting bracket was replaced with a stainless steel retrofit. The roll bar is chrome plated and has polished aluminum and rubber grommets to seal the trunk below. The car features
the factory optional hood hinges, which were powder, coated. There are also hood pins to give the hood further stability and alignment.
Miscellaneous.
There are two battery cut off switches. One between the seats for emergencies and one in the trunk for security. The trunk-mounted unit features a 5-amp auto reset circuit breaker. This allows enough current to keep the computer in memory but will trip if someone tries to start the car. The trunk is carpeted. It has Lucas windshield wipers (almost useless). And an aftermarket gas cap dress up (inside the LeMans hatch).
Comments
This may not be the hottest Factory Five ever built, but that was not my goal. It is as reliable as the ’92 Mustang that provided so many of the parts. Weather permitting you could get it this car and drive across the country. Don’t get me wrong it is fast, very fast yet gets 20 mpg. I wanted more of a “gentleman’s” Cobra,(since I am over 60) something I did not have to open the hood and play with every time I wanted to go somewhere. I have driven it 3,700 miles since completion in April of 2002. It turns heads and draws attention wherever it goes. The color combination is so striking that at shows it gets more people crowded around it than some of the big blocks.
I know it’s cold in most of the country and people are not thinking of an open roadster. The car can store the car till spring but I would rather not. You can buy this Cobra at a reasonable price.
Asking $29,500 before the cold weather discount. For specific pictures and more information contact me directly at
