Post #1- "car is for sale serious inquiries only please."
Post #2- "You won't see this car for sale on our website because we don't want to sell it."
Well, all I can say is that when you show up tommorrow you better have all your ducks in a row and batten down the hatches because these guys can be merciless.....
Should be fun either way.

How Nice of Carroll Shelby to take time from his Busy schedule and assemble this car after 38 years Of sitting in a Parts pile and then sell it to someone who cannot keep around for 2 years!! Just is not fair! I think I will offer $20,000 Dollars and a warm garage next to my "Assembled in 1968", GT 500. Just think The 500 could bring the Cobra up to speed on whats been happening to Ol' Shel since the Mid sixties.....

Paul,
Just trying to help you out.....no, a CSX 4xxx is not bad....it could be a very desirable car. It's just not "original" with "parts lying around in Old Shel's garage since the 60's." It was the way you worded the ad that got everyone stirred up, because they've heard it all before, too many times here.
It may have the name, and it may be a real Shelby, but it wouldn't be an "original." And the parts themselves in a CSX 4xxx are likely to be modern replicas of the original components. In some ways, depending upon how it was built, or who built it, it may be better, performance-wise than an original, but it's the original that commands the big bucks.

thanks
Thank you for the info.
I'm pretty sure the car is a 4xxx but I'm also sure the car and parts are all original.Does this help me?

Paul, if the car is a CSX 4xxx, and the parts are really "original" (do you really mean that, that means manufactured in the 60's), you probably have a bigger problem on your hands than if they were modern replicas of the original parts.

............NOTHING can help you at this point. You're on your own, buddy!
I sure hope someone didn't sell you that car at a high price tag (along with that story of it sitting around for almost 40 years!). You came to the wrong place to try and make a profit!
......can someone pass the pop-corn, please???

Paul....my last effort at really trying to help you (hate to see a victim)...maybe I wasn't being clear.
A CSX 4xxx car is a "continuation" series Shelby Cobra, generally manufactured with modern replica parts of the original design. They are desirable if built properly, some weren't. But, no matter how well they were built, they will never be valuable as an "ORIGINAL."
It was your ad......re-read everything here VERY CAREFULLY and LISTEN to what people are trying to tell you.
Now, I'm gonna eat my popcorn.

This thread is like a stock market crash, I step away for an hour or so and we're on page three!
You guys can decend on prey like a thousand and one jungle beasts....and Bill you really hung in there.
This is by far, better than watching Law and Order reruns. I can't wait to check in the AM.
Paul,
The responses are not personal. You aren't the first to think they had a long lost original, and if you hang out you'll see that you won't be the last. I just hope you haven't spent the cut you thought you were getting from such a high end sale.
Welcome to CC, stay awhile.
-John

3000 series are "original" '60's series CSX's--not likely, with a 'glas car 4000 series from SAI---found behind the shop or in the barn--it sure isn't a "real" Cobra---unless you have a $500K + price on the car and it is all aluminum, and is in the Registery, it ain't "real " Cobra---MOO

Paul:
You better have a big steel plate next to you when you post your pictures and provide a CSX number tomorrow because you may need it to sit on in a hurry.
This is a very informed group here that does not take kindly to smart asses. I hope for your sake you are just ignorant when it comes to cobras. If not, you can count getting another orifice ripped into you tomorrow. So keep the plate handy.
