Good job Paul. I think you handled the onslaught very well.
You stood by what you were told but did not take an "ATTITUDE" if you had things could have gotten real ugly. But you did not and for the most part it seemed to stay at "good natured ribbing" while we waited for more info.
I actually feel worse for the owner who obviously fell for the load of crap about original parts lying around in some old garage or whatever.
Stick around there is alot more to learn here, and who knows maybe you will decide to build one yourself. you have already shown that your skin is thick enough.
Have a good one,
Dan
P.S. Thanks Jamo, because of that last crack we may get to the
11 pages that I predicted.

Avanti
I have my own thoughts about this whole affair, and the conclusions I come to are not very...let's just say Preacher Jay was the perfect person to send down there and leave it at that.

I'd just like to say that I'm proud of all of you (EsPECiAlLY MRmUSTAnG ). Everyone showed a lot of restraint and gave Paul a chance to figure things out. This is not the CC I know and love What have you done with CC

Well after much debate among myself and the guys who work here.I told them everything Jay told me and they were sticking to their story. So I had The V.P call shelby n.america.carroll shelby(who by the way we decided we better not bother)on his cell.
Than scott black.Who all just confrimed That it's an authentic shelby cobra built to 65 specs by shelby.Just not an original.
So now I've got everyone on the right page so we won't sound so ignorant when answering questions about the car.
So the next time our shelby dealer offers an original cobra it won't be untill 2006.
I'll be taking deposits on those between 6-8 mo's.
Untill then thanks for the information I should have already known but didn't!

Paul,
As far as real world values right now with the "continuation series" Cobra, I suggest you watch the following Auction
Eye opening to say the least.

Stop changing the subject back onto that car you don't know anything about yet.
Back to the original topic. I gotta a '65 wife as well!
Pictures would still be nice.

Well I doubt it is any more original than Steve Sunshines CSX4027, an exact replica of CSX3002 down to every nut and bolt.
So what makes this Cobra so special???

Pictures of my original 65 wife would require a $15.67 initial good faith deposit.Thats roughly the cost of the original corona that will get me buzzing enough to post them.

I was going to point out the thread on this car, but kicking someone while he's down .... . Ultimately, the market really sets the price.

Paul can take it, he has already shown that he fits right in with the rest of us CrAzY people
Bill S.
PS: Paul, unless yours in made out of fiberglass, you'll see what the market does indeed bear at this time by watching that auction. Don't watch the Barrett Jackson auction for these, as the last time CS had something up with his name attached to it, it was bid high, supposedly sold, then back on the showroom floor two weeks later with a for sale sign on it all over again.............

WOW! I posted on pg 3 lastnight and here we are on pg 10.
Paul, you seem to be a good sport. Nice job putting up with all of our comments. I can tell you're in "sales". Never "burn a bridge".
I, for one, would like to hear more about the car! I don't think we ever heard much about the engine (even after 9 pages!). Is it a 427SO with a 60's block? Std. bore / stroke? Or, does it have a Shelby alum bock?? Any HP / TQ figures? Got a parts list for us to see??? ........All these things could play a role in the price of the car.

Hey Paul,
Check out the threads on this website concerning the new Ford Shelby Cobra. Some very talented designers, incluging someone handled "Buzz" took the design and improved it many fold. You may enjoy seeing the transformation and, now having something shaped like an original cobra on the floor, see the merit in the new design.

"Original" as defined by whom? I am curious as to the answer of that question, although I know it has probably been beaten into the ground like a 5 year old with a stick and a dead frog.
Can't wait to see the answer....

I'm curious...just who exactly defined "Original"?
Who exactly is the authority to say "This car is more original than that one?"
I just want that explained to me. Although I'm reasonably sure that this one has been beat into the ground like a 5 year old with a stick and a dead frog......
