CSX 3002 replica

This is an incredible car. Attention to the smallest detail was taken. You would be hard pressed to find a comparable car at any price. It amazes and inpresses me every time I see it.

3002 Replica

An absolutely gorgeous car but, having been around the original 3002 quite a bit, I am sorry to say that the replica missed the boat on the front fenders and made them more like 289's than 3002 actually had. The only aluminum body detail that the real 3002 had that was actual 289 was the opening at the radiator. The fenders were 427.

Hi-Tech made mostly fiberglass 427 cars. They introduced an aluminum 289 FIA car in the mid 90's and I don't know how many were produced. I don't know of any other aluminum 427 cars they produced although I believe they did make some. It was a company that had talented folks and they made great cars. They came and went quickly. At the time this car was produced, there were no other aluminum cars being produced. AC had built some over the years and M & L in Wisconsin had built some aluminum cars, also.
Thank you for the kind words, guys.
Larry, could there be an aluminum slabside in our future? I hope to see it next week.
