Ray,

Ok, since no one else is answering I will bite and most likely tick off the FFR owners. The car is nice looking and seems to have some desirable features except one that I, AND I stress this is my personal view, don't really care for. That is the solid red interior. I think a little something to have broken it up would have made a difference to me. I once had a Galaxie with a solid red interior and just never did grow to like it. I think you could expect to get around $25K - $30K for the car. Once again just my opinion which I am basing on what similar Cobras are selling for around here.Best of luck and I hope that you can get what you want for the car.

Ron

Man's it's like pulling teeth around here to get some FEED BACK on this car!!!

Don't be so bashful. step up to the plate and say what you think about this car. Good or bad, seller needs to know.

Question

What it going on here? Any other post would have generated at least 30 answers or complaints by now. Ray, maybe you need to post something that will start another war to get some interest. At least some of you FFR guys could post and let him know what you think and what your thoughts are concerning what the car should bring. He is just asking for honest opinions so he knows if he is way off or not.

The pictures look great. The car sounds good. And if I had more money I would probably have some questions for you but for now I'm going to have stick to some unfinished and unstarted kits.

Thumbs up

Hang in there, an IRS FFR with the features this car has will bring that kind of money easily! Just takes that someone that happens to be looking for what you happen to have to offer. Hit up some of your local car shows...and get a tasteful "for sale" sign for the windshield from the local vinyl shop. It's inexpensive and you'd be surprised at how much interest it will generate. Besides, someone seeing it on the street makes for a good "impulse buy" situation.

I personally think people start dropping the prices way to early on! Respect yourself!

Pssssttt....... I'll give 15K when it hits the fan and you HAVE to sell. After all, I didn't get my nick name buying high and selling low.

Cool

Ok,

Here we go, from a guy who has owned 6 FFR roadsters. Take it the way you want to, but it my honest opinion.

Why the car has not sold yet, this is a simple one, price. While it is a beautiful well built car, it's not worth $30,000 in today's marketplace. You built it with your personal tastes in mind, trying to find someone who wants "just this car" and color combination at it's current price is going to be difficult to say the least. Same goes for the carbon fiber dash, while it looks cool (and it does), but it's not for everyone. Let's get back to pricing for the moment, with the new Shelby and Kirkham offerings, your running in to the trickle down effect where the kits perceived as the "higher end of the market" are dropping in price in order for the owners to sell. You can get a really nice BB ERA or Contemporary for under 35K these days (I just looked at another ERA 427 SC down in Florida where the owner was only asking $33,000 and he would take under 29K for it because the interior needs to be redone due to sun fading)......It took me less than a week to sell off my last FFR (3510K) at it's full asking price($26,500), why, because I sat back and analyzed the current marketplace, and priced it right....Now, you might come back with the argument that you do have "OBO" listed in your advertisement, but the higher asking price will scare people away from even considering putting a lower offer in on your car.......

Well, that's it from me on this subject, I hope you take it as the positive feedback that it is meant to be (after all, you asked me for it)...........

Sincerely,

Bill S.

PS: Ernie offered 15K, I'll offer 21K just to up the ante.

THANKS Bill, some good advice from a guy that really knows the market.

All though occasionally a BB ERA or Contemp comes around priced in the mid 30's I would not consider that normal. Myself, I'm sure like Bill, is constantly searching the market, comparing prices, looking for a "deal". I was looking a LONG time before I recently scored my ERA at a nice price. When a deal like that comes around (and it happens) you GOT to be able to jump on it.

Ernie
