Alabama Cobra 4 Sale
Anybody know this car?? (besides the owner)

I might, but then if I said anything I'd probably be accused of participating in a conspiracy to defraud any unsuspecting buyers and of trying to pass off a car with no MSO, even if it existed:3DSMILE:

I don't know the car, but it certainly meets all the criteria of a legit e-bay deal. It doesn't have any of the typical earmarks of an e-bay fraud. It's a standard auction, there is a high reserve, etc. None of the previous e-bay frauds had any of these characteristics.
It could very well be a very nice car. Mgreene, if you do know the car, and it is nice, you should help place it in a nice home. |
Call the Weaver's at Unique. They may be able to fill in the blanks if you give them the VIN.

DECATUR COBRA
I'M WAITING TO HEAR FROM A COUPLE OF PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE DECATUR AREA. LAST WEEK I FOUND ANOTHER COBRA IN DECATUR. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS THE SAME ONE. I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED.

Don't know the whole story yet, but the guy that bought that "no mso" car is going through quite an experience. Check uniquecobra.com. Mgreene, sorry if I caused any pain...seems I was wrong and I am willing to admit it.

OK...now I'm totally confused. I'm on the www.uniquecobra.com site all the time, and I have no clue what you're talking about. |
If you live in Huntsville, you are less then 45 minutes to Decatur.
Email the guy and go see the car and get a feel for the car. |
Bomelia,
I've seen this car a couple of times in Huntsville - once at Seco performance on Jordan Lane and once at a car Show at Hooter's. It looked VERY NICE (although I don't car for the "snake head" shifter knob;) ). Being an older Unique build, it's got the older MG front suspension, which I think the Weavers have since updated with a more modern (or perhaps easier to acquire) set up. Not sure why it's for sale. |

Mike,
Now I know what you're talking about. I'm very familiar with that story and the "Spence" car. It's legendary in the Cobra world, and a very extreme example. Fact is, Spence never tried to complete the car correctly.....never even painted it....just dropped a bad engine in, with an automatic tranny. The car sat outside in the rain for years with a plastic tarp over it. Nolastyankee is turning it to a masterpiece because he and his dad are very talented engineers, and he is a former racer. But, he also picked it up for little more than pocket change in the Cobra world. The car in question here is NOT the Spence car. |
Spence...
Clay,
I realize that the car in question is not the Spence car. It in fact was sold out of Huntsville about 6 months ago. The reason that story came up was because of an exchange that someone and I had sometime ago. Mostly a dig at me, since I was on the wrong side of an issue. Mike |
REPLY FROM JIMMY OF DECATUR
It is Scott Curry's, of Curry's restaurant in Decatur. The 289 hauls. He lives in my neighborhood. There is another guy down the street who is building a FFR. His son wrecked his Mustang so he bought a FFR to build. Will have a 302 with supercharger on it.
Friday I ordered a Gordon Levy custom grind cam that I will be putting in mine. Jimmy Yes, it is Scott Curry's. he lives in Decatur just down the street from me. Talked to him yesterday. Nice car and he drives it alot. Not a trailer queen. He wants to sell it to buy something else. He is the second owner.
