I assume that it has a 428 engine?

Maybe it is just me, but I have been here long enough to be me. Here it goes.
Total of three posts from Mr. Weisman.
One chastising Steve Sunshine for selling his car
Second apologizing for having done so in haste.
Third, putting the car up for sale and plugging the upcoming ebay sale.
Maybe it is just me, but I think it is tacky!
I bet good money, after the car sells, we won't be hearing from this gentleman again any time soon.
No it is not me. It IS TACKY!!

Didn't give it much thought until you mentioned it.
Not sure I'm interested in hearing from him later down the road anyway...
It'll be interesting to see how the auction goes...

Yeah, I agree, but what is Mr. Sunshine's part in all this?

Turk: I'm pretty new here, but I've been around "lurking" for quite sometime. Not a lot of post to my credit either, but give me some time.
I have to say, like casaleenie, I didn't give it much thought until you mentioned it, but it DOES seem a little "tacky" to mention the e-bay ad, at least. If you want to sell the car on this forum, write up an ad and submit it (or pay for it) depending on what type of ad you want. If you want to sell it on e-bay, sell it on e-bay.
But hey.......this is a guy that sell cars for a living, so he's just trying to get some free advertising off of a free forum about Cobra's. Freedom of speach, I guess. Can't blame the guy.
Turk......at least the guy is selling a REAL Cobra (FORD). Don't you sell Chebby's for a living? That's a little like the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it???

I don't consider it advertising any more than I considered the recent picture and threads about the new GT-40 builder "advertising". I consider it "news". It aint that often when one of the originals come up for sale and OFTEN the sale is super secret.
Granted there is a fine line between "news" and "advertising", one mans poison and all that. And Steve is hardly new to "controversy", I'm sure he will survive and thrive.
I'll be surprised if the car does well on e-bay, by the way. I'll be watching it.

That is a really nice car. A one of a kind.
I heard about street venders trying to sell their wares, and stories about them not selling well even though they were at a low price. After tripling their asking price, their products would sell like hotcakes. I would ask at least $500K, it may sell faster.

Ernie: You're right, it IS nice to see the REAL ones on here. Looks like a nice car too. He won't get 375K from the tight wads shopping on Ebay, though.
Turk: Good point. Especially since his 1st post here was to cuss someone out (someone that's been here for quite some time, too).
Too bad about you not selling Chebby's here. I was hoping to see an ad from you on your 5311 th post for one of those new SSR's! Do you have any in the showroom, or are they all on backorder?? I've had my eye on getting one since I saw one at the Chicago auto show.
BTW.......what do you think of the new Vette? Just thought I'd ask since you're a Chebby guy. I hear the new Z-06 version (or whatever they'll call it) is supposed to be 500HP. Sweet! Bad news for the Viper guys!

Turk,
Someone from the CC forum will spot the car on Ebay and post the link as soon as it hits the auction...
There will be a whole thread dedicated to the car after the Monday unveiling....
Richard could have waited....

Just went to 36OF1's previous postings and I don't see that he did anything different than Sunshine did with his postings...
Possibly both of them jumped the gun on this thing... Both peviewed the sale of the same car... and on this forum...
Unless I'm reading something different???

Fellas... just a reminder.
CC encourages replies in the Cobras For Sale Forum that are questions directed to the seller about the item for sale...
...and discourages side-bar dialog not relating to the item.
Out of courtesy, if you want to continue a discussion about the buyer, seller, price, etc. ... start a new thread elsewhere, unless you are addressing the originator.
Thanks
Ron

Thanks for all your postings.
I am new to these forums and admittedly joined just to advertise my car for sale. But where better to get the word out?
I mentioned ebay as a courtesy. I thought you'd want to know.
The car is in my showroom in Pompano beach, FL and anyone who is close enough is welcome to come take a look at it.
As for Mr. Sunshine, (as I posted in his thread) he is a friend of a friend of mine. No one told me he would be posting my car for sale, so when i saw it, I, naturally, reacted. I didn't want anyone to think that the car was already sold to his group and not available.
I have since spoken to steve, which cleared things up and was the reason for my apologetic post. I understand that he is well resected and I didn't, and don't, want to undermine that.
I am a member of many forums focused on different marques for the specific reason of selling cars. I do not apologize for that. I hope I have not offened anyone by joining this one for that reason.I just thought everyone would like to know the car is for sale.
There is a faily complete (although not wholly accurate) entry for 3245 in the registry. It does not have it's original 428, but does have a correct 427.
I hope I've helped to answer your questions. I am available by email or phone.
Thanks!

Correct me if I am wrong, but without the original engine, the current and future value of 3245 is compromised. Still a beautiful piece but not as it came from Shelby in 66.

gwbeaty,,,, you could be wrong! With the Chev Vettes so much is put on "numbers matching car", original engine, trans, rear end etc. (often it's STILL smoke and mirrors)!
With Cobras there were never any numbers to match! I bet a lot, if not MOST of the original cars don't have the original motors.
Now I hear what your saying, we know THIS car DID have a 428 when new. Which was NEVER as desirable as the 427. I'm not sure it will make a huge difference to the buyer. Pretty easy to dump the 427 and buy a 428. After all, you don't have to worry about "matching numbers"!
Perhaps it's possible the car is MORE desirable with a 427?
360F1, do post the link to e-bay when the car comes up for auction.

When I sold mine I had to make the guy take the original engine !!! It was a 427 center oiler low riser . To me at the time it was a boat anchor .

Hmmmm,,,, I never knew any of the originals came with a 427 center oiler. I thought ALL the 427's used were side oilers.

Nice looking Cobra ..... that was titled in Switzerland ? Look at the sticker "CH" (Confederatio Helvetica). Here in Switzerland you are obliged to put such a sticker on your car in order to get the title. Regards, Walter
