hi big easy. got a question. im really going to get a cobra. i do like the way your cobra looks. heres the ? . i know nothing about motors and trans. people i work with say i need to think about getting a small block verses a big block.dont break down as much. true or false?. i wont be driving the hell out of one and not to often. ill baby it. i like the idea of the big block. but if the upkeep cost to much . might be better of with small block. one more thing. can you tell me what insurance on these cost. i have a perfect record. thanks

Oldblue;
Big block vs small block--probably one of the most talked about topics on Club Cobra. It's just a matter of personal preference. For me, I wanted a big block--for the torque, power and looks in the engine bay. I don't think it's at all a matter of which one "breaks down" more. Most of the cars are just hobby cars, and driven fairly infrequently. I've never had a problem with this motor, and I would not think twice about driving the car anywhere. As far as insurance, it's inexpensive, as I have several "antique" cars insured, and my agent knows I cannot be in them at once, and like I said, I don't rack up the miles---mostly just club meets, car shows and the occasional drive out through the countryside. Just give me a call if you have more questions. I'm considering a couple of trades, but I would rather sell the car outright, so if you're interested, come take a look. BigEasy Charlie |
Looks sound and I like the package. I'm surrounded by a bunch of Corvette lovers and would love to pull up in a Cobra.I just live up the road in South Forsyth. My son just returned from Iraq and the hole tribe is going to the mouse factory to have a good time this week. I'll call when I return to see if you still have it or not. I'm looking for a road car to take some trips with my wife in your opion is the set up conducive to this type use? Have you had problems with test omissions or the title? Talk to you when I return Gordon Peters

Gordon;
Call me when you get back from MickeyLand. It's doubtful I"ll have the car in a week, gauged by the interest level thus far, and several folks are coming out to look at it this week, but worth a check-back. BigEasy Charlie |
What block is a 514 C.I.D. motor derived from? A 460?
Mileage on the car/motor? Nice car... You have peaked my interest... Pat |
PJS50;
Thanks for the interest, but the car is pending sale. The 514 is a bored and stroked 460, and it is awesome:p Charlie BigEasy |
