Evan I have seen a number of second hand spec racers come through for a very good price. Check over at the FF5 forum. As for turning wrenches, I used to turn wrenches partially in exchange for some seat time. Perhaps you could find some one with a similar desire?

How about a Coupe?

I am with you on shows. I don't do 'shows' but I will do cruise in's. First of all, I don't have a show car, secondly the cruise in's (I suppose some of them you could call shows) is more of an excuse to hang out with buddies than anything else. I would love to do some track time but that would mean some changes I don't know if I want to make. Plus of course, time. I do Solo II which you might enjoy. Just be prepared to have you a$$ handed to you by some kid with a Civic and a fart can!

The Noble has been getting rave reviews and there is a waiting list so who knows, it may pan out to be a good purchase. By the way, I don't know how old your kids are but when was the last time you tried and squeze you hind end in the back of a 911? Last time I tried it wasn't pretty. Hell the seat wasn't even big enough to take a baby seat! That is why I think all vehicle with more than two seats are a waste of space!

FFR Spec racers are a great deal...typically $25 to $28 - 30K complete.

Great for the spec series and open tracking. Low Maintenance too (as long as you don't drive like Dan Elam!)

Well, spec racer won't carry the wife and kids either.

JM, that just might be the butt-ugliest Porch ever. Suppose the kids might fit in the back tho.

Noble's are neat....too close to practical tho. Screw it, Evan - go get a Caterham, pocket the leftover cash, and kick the bejusus out of Porsches/Ferraris/Cobras/whatever. Just don't eat too much before you try to get into one.

Evan old buddy, one of the Crankazoids has one. The car is fast ,safe and as bulletproof as an anvil. New ,they're $36k. They have an arrive and drive service to see if the car is you, for only $1500 a day, with complete track side support.While everybody else is chassing settups on their cars, you can be the class of the event, just by turning the key.

FYI,
General information,

The Radical will show the Track Turd the way around the smaller tracks, LRP, Beaverun. But at the big REAL racetrack WGI, the Turd leads the Radical.

Evan - sorry, I forgot that you folks are a tad behind the times when it comes to new cars.

The NEW Noble M14 has only just been released here in the UK, and I guess it will be a while before it gets to the USA. You are only just beginning to see the M12 models, which are "old news" here.

Nobles out-handle just about anything on the road, including Caterhams and Ultimas. What is more, they have transcended the "kit car" image of those two, and are more like low-volume production cars with all that this means for quality and resale.
No Cobra, no matter how well-sorted, would even see which way a Noble went on a track - I have ridden in them and can attest to that.

The new Noble M14 here

Is the latest, looks absolutely the dogs, is going to take Noble cars up a quantum step or two. Personally, I really like the styling - less "ricey" than the M12, more like an Ferrari from the front, Maclaren-ish from the side, totally it's own thing from the rear.

Can you tell that I am a fan yet?

Guys: Thanks for the input.

What is the target price of the M14?

Right now I have my heart set on the GT3 but the looks of the M14 are beautiful. Its in the running depending on price.

I was reading Sports Car Magazine over the weekend. The consensus is that anything"Shelby" will continue to rise in value. GT500 selling for $85K and a GT350 (albeit the first one made/prototype) selling for $280K. Makes me wonder if selling 4206 is the wise move.

I'm not in it for investment but if 5 to 10 years the car is worth $175K -$200K after CS passes on I kick myself.

I don't expect a GT3 or M14 to climb in value while 4206 being alloy and fitted out the way it is with his signature on it certainly seems to have potential.

Now I'm just confusing myself.

If in 5-10 years your car is going to be worth $175K-$200K you have to ask yourself, if you want to wait for 5-10 years for $100K-$125K appreciation.

What about the fun you will miss by NOT owning a GT3 or an M14 for those years?

If you get one or the other of those cars, are you going to have to to relocate the tie-down "D" rings in the trailer, or will they come close to the measurements of the Cobra?

Evan,

I think that the M12 (not M14) finished out runs about 75K. The base car, if I remember correctly from Carlisle, is around 56K. That leaves the tranny and engine as the additional items. I think that the recommended package (a small block ) was estimated at 16k

The car looks really nice. I did not personally get behind the wheel, but noticed people getting in adn out with big grins.

Go get one and be the first on the block.

don't sweat it.. it's only the original ones that are appreciating in value.



I doubt there will be a pre-mortem vs. post-mortem value difference on the CSX4000's..since production will more than likely continue, as usual.

looks like the m14 will be 80k (in pounds)

so about $150,$160 in dollars
