Interesting ebay auction caught my eye.........:)

For a "buy it now" price of $55K you're getting a Kirkham body and chassis. (approx. value $20K)
So essentially he's selling a Shelby MSO for $35K.
Is it worth $35K for a Shelby MSO, you decide.

Turk 06-05-2004 12:01 AM

I think the CSX number is only worth $33,800.

"Or maybe keep the car as is, as an investment."
That's the Ebay quote of the day.

JWheaton 06-05-2004 09:36 AM

Don't you guys understand that the "real" value is that it is 'the only' one to leave Shelby factory like this. %/

Oh well -- to each his own towards making their bucks. :)

Don't count on it...Look at this guys bidding history for the past two weeks.....I think "junior" has gotten ahold of dads account again.Either that, or this guy just hit the lottery............

HI Cobra 06-09-2004 04:24 AM

Interesting-

Don't be surprized if it shows up on ebay again soon.
After I saw Fox's reply I did a bit of looking and all prior
purchases I saw by the Cobra buyer were single unit buys of
womens clothing prices from $1.25 for shorts to $17.95 for
size 8 womans Sketchers athletic shoes. $55k was a
quantum leap for this ebayer!

With all the school girl kakling going on no one has posted what SAI sells the same for.

If $55K is the going price its the going price. The "Shelby" name clearly has more value than the "Kirkham" name. Maybe it is $33K more in value based on what it buys you i.e. A (1) a genuine/real Shelby Cobra not a replica of one (2) a CSX vin# and (3) recognition by SAAC which is the leading authority on all things Cobra as a real/genuine Cobra with registration in the Shelby American Registry.

To some people those benefits are worth the difference. To a majority of this crowd who observation reveals most of whom don't have Shelbys its not. Interesting.

computerworks 06-09-2004 12:03 PM

Evan... have you been out in the sun today? :D

A complete alum roller from SAI with all the underpinnings is not much more (maybe 20k) than what this "skin and tubes" was bid to.

Get REAL.

;)

R U YELLA 06-09-2004 12:33 PM

So Shelby only has to put the Tag on the car and make 30K! SAI didn't even touch the car. It came that way from KMP! What a joke! Well there is a sucker born every minute.

Catch ya later
Ed

REAL 1 06-09-2004 12:36 PM

Nope. Haven't been out in the sun today. Just haven't checked the price of a body and chasis from SAI lately. Have no interest.

Its worth whats its worth. ie. what a willing buyer and seller volutarily agree to exchange for it.
