Click on the camera icon by your name.

That will take you to your GALLERY! Upper right part of the screen click on "Upload". Select your pic, follow the instructions and put in your gallery.

IF you want to sell the car people will need PICS and a GOOD pic of the damaged door.

Off the top of my head: Damaged door = Cobra value in low $20's
But how would a prospective buyer know?

cobra64II 08-25-2004 05:00 PM

Tried that already says my pics are too big to post. I dont know how to make them smaller in size to post it so I would just email to whoever is interested. The door is not that much money it would cost between $500 and $1000 to fix and get painted, which I have no problem in deducting off the price. If youlike email me at cobra64@optonline and I will send you the pictures and maybe you can shrink them for me? You will also see that you cant even notice the damage on the door in the pictures.
Thanks

I can sympathize with you regarding the door - did the same thing just before I decided to sell. I lost control of my emotions so bad my wife came running thinking something awful had happened - it had!!!

I ended up having it fixed and painted the whole car (paint was the only real weak point at that stage anyway) which enabled me to get a decent price AFTER repair.

You need to know two things (sorry slick;) ) about club cobra, 1) Our members are the CHEAPEST of enthusiasts and 2) Ernie above is the King of the clan:LOL: ! In fact, when selling my latest car a couple weeks ago I didn't even post a sales ad telling them it was on eBay - not worth the strokes - sorry!:(

Best wishes in your attempt to sell. Fixing your door will go along way towards that effort - after all, it's only mooooore money!

Here is a picture of mine after paint to demonstrate it's effectiveness.

To shrink photos

First make sure they are in jpg format.

In Paint (found under programs, accesories) open the file. go under Image (top) then stretch/Skew.

use the % to shrink photo. it is reverse so if you want to shrink a lot put low number in both places.

Shrink a little...high number.

First off, ya gotta fix that door.

Then have the car detailed. Take it places where people who have money for "Toys" hang out and put a For Sale sign on it. Hang out to answer questions, and have a spec sheet to hand out. Some places that come to mind are the local marina, court house, medical complex, finance district, and car shows. People that build Cobas, and people that buy Cobras are from different worlds.

You'e wasting your time trying to sell you car here unless you're trying to give it away.

I'm not so sure I'd say we were all cheap. Frugal might fit better. Look at this thread....Car starts at $40 large with a 302 / 275 horse motor. Then goes down to $35, $32 and finally $30 all with no pictures posted. Where I come from $40 large is real money for something with a crunched door and no pictures. So many of the cars for sale on this site don't fit what a lot of us are looking for. C-4s, C-6s, Corvette pieces, Air Conditioning, Purple with green flames etc. etc. etc... There are some class cars for sale here and I hope to have a very specific one in my shop by the end of Sept.. But I think a lot of us are looking for very specific things and are willing to wait.

BTW - Now I know why I keep dropping my laptop....I've got Crackers old ride as the wallpaper. Wish I knew how to insert about 20 smileys in this so Turk doesn't attack me again...........

I found your reply offensive, by the way you criticized my postings. If you going to offer advice on how I can sell my car better then fine but please do not criticize my posting the way you did before.

Cobra64II,
I usually don't reply to Club Cobra posting but, I see you as the one with the attitude. These guys are here to help. If you want to get top dollar for your car, you need to post more information. All we know about your car is the mileage, the manufacturer, the engine size/hp, and you can't back out of a garage. Getting $40,000 for cobra with a 302 is rare. The car would need to be in excellent condition with all the bells and whistles. Getting $30,000 for a cobra with a 302 is possible if the car is perfect. Yours isn't. If you think 55312 was offensive, you better get out a box of tissues. Some of Club Cobra's members can be a bit harsh with their responses but, they will give you good, solid information. You need to listen and get rid of that attitude if
you want to sell your car here. Good luck on selling your car.

cobra64II 08-31-2004 07:04 PM

To all whom think I have the attitude problem....
I have no choice in selling my car, and thats because of personal reasons. If I had a choice about this I would not sell my Cobra, I love the car too much. I have tried my best to keep it but I no longer can do it. This is a very touchy subject for me, please understand how you would feel if you had no choice in selling soomething you love very much.
I thank all of you for your help and I do apoligize if I am the one with the attitude, but please look at it from my point of view.

cobra64II 08-31-2004 07:06 PM

Oh by the way I am also looking into repairing the door.

HI Cobra 08-31-2004 09:19 PM

Cobra64II

I think you will find that once you fix the door so
the car is 100%, make a nice "for sale" sign and
show it around some and put an ad in the paper,
you will be able to sell it for a fair price.

There is a lot of good advice on this forum available.

Best of luck!

Dsprint2000 09-01-2004 10:30 AM

Hey Cobra64II -

Sorry you have to sell the car that you love. Been there, done that. Still pissed off because of it. I love this forum, there is an endless amount on information on ANY subject. However, that being said, I would never list a car for sale here due to the associated comments, of which you have encountered. Better off on Cobra Country, Hemmings.....

David :)
