Default ERA Cobra for sale- price reduced

ERA Cobra, origionally built in 1981
Titled as 1966 Cobra in Ohio
This is the first car that ERA sold to the public
Approx. 25,000 miles
Currently has a 1968 428 PI motor
Holley DP carb
Lunati cam
Edelbrock Performer intake
Polished cobra valve covers
Guestimated 400 h.p.
Toploader 4 speed with big input and output shafts
Jag independent rear with 3.54 gears
Spax coilover shocks all around
3 piece halibrand look alike wheels
New BF Goodrich TA's
Tonneau cover
Soft top (needs a little work, rollbar cutout made and not
finished)
Rollbar one piece, welded to frame
12 gallon fuel cell, foam filled with skid plate
4 point harness belts
Red with FIA stripe, 02 numbers, some chips
Asking $35,000

Email to ppcsolomon@hotmail.com
Pictures available, will post them if someone can help

The car was raced at some point in its life, as evidenced by the fuel cell. I have the wiper motor, but it is not installed. It was taken out by previous owner to save weight? The car is well sorted out, runs strong and handles well. I have a spare 427 SO block that can go with the car for additional money. It is spare parts for my 427 SOHC ( not for sale). But honestly I don't think it is worth the money to put it in, or I would have done so
already. The only thing more horse power than this is good for on the street is bench racing, IMO. Reason for sale, Kirkham on the way.

Thanks
Paul

400 horse is about right for the street. The 600 plus horse ERA I have is a handful on the street.

,,,,,,but it did run 11.904 at 121.27 mph in the 1/4 the other day, and that was pretty cool.

I can help with the pictures. Email the pics to me at excelguru@charter.net (I have a cable modem so I can handle the file size) and I'll display them on this thread. That's easier than typing out instructions.

Please put "ERA Pictures" in the subject line, so I won't inadvertantly delete the email (I'm constantly recieving virus-laden emails from annonymous sources).

Default 427 SO

Would anyone be more interested in this car with a fresh 427 SO in it for say $41,500? I have the parts to put together a 427 SO block, Scat 3.98 stroke crank, lemans rods, stock forged pistons (standard bore block) and lowriser heads for that price without too much trouble. This is what I am planning on puting in the new Kirkham, but could redirect it to this car. Maybe I will put the SOHC in the Kirkham.....

Paul that's a pretty attractive price for an ERA. I'm surprised Ernie hasn't tried to buy it yet.
If I didn't have a Kirkham on the way as well I'd be might tempted.

Good luck with the sale.

I am surprised you still have it. Looks like a great deal for someone. Maybe Turk will buy it, he misses his old ERA.
