Default Re: looking to buy a cobra

The first basic questions you need to answer are as follows:

What is your budget?
What is your intended useage (road racing, drag racing, autocross, street cruiser, show car)?
How original do you want to be?
Do you want to build it yourself, or buy one already done?

Then we can answer the best bang for your buck.

kualii, as a first step, I would check with the guys in the NWCC on the Local Clubs icon. They have a variety of cars you can look at and ask questions to the owners. Mr. Mustang is correct, it's all a matter of money, time and taste, not necessarily in that order. Do your homework and purchase was it right for you. Good luck.

If I were to build my own and REALLY had a tight budget, I'd go with Factory Five. But budgeting aside, I really think that they have the best chassis going. (No flames please.)

But when I thought it all out and did some research, I soon discovered that I could buy a completed example cheaper than I could build one. And that's even with me doing ALL of the work, including paint.

I ended up buying a Shell Valley off of this very forum from a guy three hours from my house. While I'm happy with the S.V., I would likely have chosen another manufacturer had this deal not presented itself in a timely manner.

This cobra is 90% done. Just complete and go or make a bundle on it. This car is worth a lot more than I am asking. I just have no time and money to complete it. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. You can see all details at www.thetrumbulls.com/cobra/

Thumbs up Maybe...

kualii - Mine might be for sale soon and I only live a few hours from you. It depends on how our new business does. Hopefully I won't have to sell. It's a 2002 Factory Five, with only 2200 miles on it - Damn the weather!!! If I do sell it, it will be for quite a bit more than you mentioned, but it's something to think about. At least see the pictures and check out the chick, er I mean car. Good Luck
